  • I need parking at Gatwick North terminal for Jul 21 to Aug 15. Cheapest I've found so far is £118, which is a bit horrendous.

    Any other suggestions?

I've thought of parking somewhere nearby like Crawley and getting a cab. If I could find airport parking for around 70-80 I would go for it.

    Cheers

    Hi all,

    Hi shazrazmataz

    Try,

    https://www.holidayextras.co.uk

Choose the cheapest option which is usually 'Airparks'

This company is a fifteen minute drive from the airport with free transfers to and from the airport.

I have used Airparks a couple of times and been more than happy with their service and prices.

I used to work for Holiday Extras, they do have some good offers on BUT it does pay to get in early, especially around busy times like Easter, otherwise prices can rocket or they sometimes even run out of space!!

    HTH :)

I just pop in now and then.... :)

I've offered this advice before. I stay at the Ifield Court Hotel the night before I fly. A double room is about £85 including full breakfast. You also get 2 weeks of free parking plus free transfers to the airport and back. It's a good way to start a holiday.

    Hi, quick query.
Going away for 4 days flying from stansted, not sure what car park to use!
The mid stay cost is just over £40 while the long stay is £28. I know the long stay car park is further away from the airport, does this really matter?
Has anyone used either of these car parks? Any pros or cons for using either car park?

    Thanks Squibbs

I would imagine there are shuttle buses running from all the car parks so I would just go for the cheapest and give yourself plenty of time.

I flew from Stansted in March and used Gateway Parking, an off-site service and they only charged me £3.75 a day for 4 days. I've never seen it this cheap since, though! They were very efficient - I think I booked through https://www.holidayextras.co.uk but I can't be totally sure.

I always use the Pink Elephant long stay car park. I think it always works out cheaper, no matter how long you stay. The Mid stay is slightly nearer but you still have to get the shuttle bus.

The buses are usually waiting at the stop to take you to the airport. It takes about 10-15mins from long stay to airport. leave plenty of time.

Also make sure you write down the location of your car (the car park is separated into different letters). Its so easy to forget when you go on holiday and ive plenty of people despairing because they cant find their car.

I pay by credit card at the barrier when i leave but i think you can pre-pay too.

    Thank you for your replies.

Mookiandco - you say "leave plenty of time" what sort of time frame would you advise for usind the Pink Elephant car park.

GlenntheBaker - Does Gateway Parking offer a shuttle service aswell? If not how do you get to the terminal?

check out simplyparking. Last time I looked they had Stansted parking at £5.80 per day. Holidayextras was £8 per day.

We have used the farthest parking at Stanstead and the shuttle works very well. It might not work so well when you come back, particularly if it is at night, since sometimes they get flooded with several flights arriving, so be prepared in the event.
Also, check with the Co you are flying with. Sometimes Easyjet and others offer discounts for parking.
I would say allow half an hour from when you park the car to when you get to the airport.
