Name of present? Hand of Love
Do you make it or buy it? Buy it and make it
Total Cost? Less than £5
Details (the more the better). Buy some clay from an Art store £2 and mould it into a flat circle an get your daughter and son to imprint their hand on the clay. Paint with a colourful glossy clay paint (pink or blue) and either leave blank or carve their name in the clay. The paint costs next to nothing. This is a lovely sentimental gift which can be used as a nice wall piece, pierce two small holes in the clay and you can hang the imprint with either rope or gingham ribbon. Very sweet gift for Mummys, Daddys or Grandparents.Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A0 -
I hope I'm not repeating anyone else's tip here, but my eyes are sore from reading all the suggestions!

Name of present? - Christmas Chocolate Log
Do you make it or buy it? Make the log / Buy the ingrediants
Total Cost? Depends on where you buy the bits, but no more than a fiver
Details - Depending on how many you make (We make 3 for each set of granparents and one for ourselves). Buy 3 swiss rolls and a nice big block of chocolate and a little icing sugar.
Melt the chocolate and cover the swiss rolls quite thickly and then drag a fork across for a 'log' effect. Leave in the fridge overnight to set.
Screw up some silver foil and then open back up and wrap around an old piece of cardboard. Place the log on the cardboard and sprinkle a little icing sugar over both the log and foil for a snowy effect.
Place on some xmassy bits like tinsel or any other decorations you have (pinched from tree even nicer, lol)
We make them the day before xmas eve so when we call at both sets of granparents on xmas eve the log is fresh.
Let the children give it and just look at the faces of the grandparents knowing that some much love, care and attention has gone into their special gift. Priceless.
It is a great way to involve the children in xmas, they feel like they are contributing, they love to lick the bowl and the best part is ... you usually get a slice with a nice cup of tea and everyone is happy. We have done this now for the last 4 years and it is a little tradition now that I hope my children will pass on.
Best of all ... ENJOY!!!!!0 -

My nomination for a festive fiver pressie is a pair of "Vacuvin Rapid Ice Mini Coolers" from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk). Great for lager lovers and "Coke" addicts alike to chill their cans of choice.
They are £3.97 a pair ... and of course if you buy more than 4 pairs (which takes it above the £15 threshold) post and packing is free!
How "cool" is that!!! (sorry couldn't resist)
Cheers
