Name of present? shower cap/pram wheel covers
Do you make it or buy it? Buy
Total Cost? £4.99
Details (the more the better): this is a very practical present and useful for a women or man with a pram. I know that prams can be so annoying for making a terrible mess of the carpets or wooden floors, so buy 4 shower caps from Boots...get your points too and she can use them as pram wheel covers. Great for women that don't want to be cleaning up dirty pram wheel tread marks all over the place. Oh and remember to type out instructions and pack them in a beautiful gift box. Sure they will come in useful.Crazy present but practical as it does work......tell me i'm silly!!Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A0 -
Name of present? DVD memories
Do you make it or buy it? mostly make it but you'll have to buy the blank dvd's
Total Cost? maybe £2 for some dvd's and at least 3-4 hours time
details!
why not clean out your computer and set aside the really good digital photo's you've got stored. while you're rooting around you can delete unwanted photo's and you can use paint shop pro or photoshop to add captions, to clean up photo's (red eyes, background stuff etc) you can get free copies of paint shop pro online now if you don't have it already. there are free tutorials online for how to use it too! you can make a lovely 'photo scrapbook' on dvd to give to distant relatives or the grandparents. they can pop it in their dvd player and 'watch' it whenever they like!
i will be doing this this year for dh's mum. i'll probably use a program i sell called crazy talk to make some of them 'talk and sing' but with postage that program sets you just over the £5 limit so i haven't posted details about it... regardless it's still a great idea even just with captions and stuff...
learn how to clone stuff and the fun really beginsfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

Name of present? Greetings from home
Do you make it or buy it? Buy it and make it
Total Cost? Less than £5
Details (the more the better). Great pressie for friends or relatives who are abroad. Someone buys a nice scrapbook and all the recipients' friends and family provide photos and write messages in the book. Name of present? Cancer Research - Give In Celebration web site
Do you make it or buy it? Make it online via the web site
Total Cost? Nothing - but you can use your fiver to set the ball rolling if you like!
Details (the more the better) Cancer Research have an online web tool that allows you to set up a 'Celebration' web page to mark stuff like Xmas, birthdays or anniversaries. Basically you could, for example, set up a page for your family for Xmas - you can choose from their designs and/or use your own photo and write your own festive message in there. You can then email or ask for special donation slips to send out to family/friends etc telling them about your page and asking them to donate to the charity instead of giving you a Xmas gift. Donations can be made online or offline. You (and anybody else that gets to take part) can see how much you've raised on the page if you like - you can also see lists of people that give and they can leave messages if they like.
Where possible please add a link if it's an online offer http://www.giveincelebration.org/0
