It turned out to be junk mail so I said I wouldn't be collecting it ;)

Junk mail being sent out with insufficient postage, that really takes the biscuit :rotfl:

Tell me about it! It was a subscription form for a magazine I had specifically cancelled my subscription to as well!

I believe the PO add a £1 'admin fee' on there as well. Really fair !

well do you know how much it costs to deal with underpaid items?
its been 2 years so people should get with the programme and pay the correct postage
then i wouldnt have to spend hours sorting, carding, doing the accounts on and returning charged items

go to the post office and ask to look at the letter before deciding to pay the fee or not - I would.

I have done this on several occasions and each time I chose not to accept the letter.

The one time MY OH had this it was because the letter was 0.05mm to wide and only had a standard stamp. My OH argued politely with the person who said don't worry about the fee.
