    I'm by number 7.
Lovely news about your cheque Susu. Well done.
My day's been a bit different. Had to fork out £200 on tyres for my van. Ouch !! Still, it had to be done. Two were right on the limit and a third was probably illegal. I hadn't noticed because it was a rear tyre and it had worn unevenly on the inside edge. Looks like I might have to get tracking sorted too. Fourth one will be fine for a while though. Service and MOT in the next few weeks too with front pads and discs needing replacements. Tempted to go for the MOT + service deal at £99 + VAT. Won't get the sort of servicing I like for that money but hopefully I'll get away with it.

Would you mind explaining what you lot have been chatting about with the whole "i live by no.7, I live by no.11"... do you all live on the same street or what???

Oh and on the 99quid + VAT check the T&C's!!! Years ago my gf at the time took her car in for a 99quid service and when we went to pick it up they wanted nearly 400 and kept the car for a week! They ended replacing all sorts on it.

Also check the work done it yourself... I don't know how mechanical you are but check the brakes and fluid levels and check that there's fresh oil in it before you drive away as I was stung a few years ago on my motorbike... paid 40 quid for a service because they hadn't actually done anything to it!!!

Oh and with the tracking... if you go to kwik-fit or somewhere like that for a new fourth tire in the near future most of the big ones now offer a free tracking check n fix when you buy tires off them.

Rubbish TDQ, I will be perfectly fine on a houseboat. I never once came home sober all the time I lived on it & had to scale a 10ft fence & dodge the alsation before sliding down the bangplank into the front door :p / window if I'd left my keys somewhere.

Word of warning though : it did start to sink  when my boss brought his entire rugby team along to one of our infamous parties 15 x large men + tummies full of beer = lots of extra weight :rotfl:

Hmmm i knew there was something missing tonight... wine *tootles off to fridge* ...

Oooh get you! I'm far too lazy to climb fences etc... would have ended up using an inflatable animal and rowing down the bank til I found somehwere easier! :rotfl:

Rosa: in bristol most of the houseboats have gardens on the roofs...

LOL. They're junction numbers of the M25 (London orbital motorway).

Thanks for the tips on that.

    Rosa,

re the houseboat ; go for it. Many of the ones near me have moorings with gardens :j. Ours was only cold because we were both too lazy to chop wood for the donkeystove so it was only on when we could ensnare passing beefcake with axe ( not to be confused with passing psycho with axe  )

These days most do have central heating, I'm going to have a dutch barge next time as 1) can spend a weekend or two in amsterdam sourcing one ;) & 2) they are a really decent size with so much storage. Ooooh I'm so excited, I want one now :D

I did enjoy my stays in Amsterdam in my misspent youth. The trouble was I kept getting lost because all the canals look the same.
I may return there one day to see what the place actually looks like ;)

I reckon if I went for a houseboat it would have to be a massive barge conversion with loads of room so I could have a big garden on the roof, a ramp to ride my motorbikes onto it and several spare bedrooms plus party room and a gym!

I thought that's what they might be, mind you I'd only just sussed it out at the bottom of page 192 :rotfl:

28 by the way - plus another hour & 1/2's drive :rotfl: :rotfl:
