You conveniently fail to mention that whilst the OP may well be able to change his talk plan,he will be the subject of another 18 month contract.0 -
Just to contribute to the line dropping out...
Have you changed your phone recently? I had a similar problem when I changed to a Panasonic and needed to get better line filters, as the ones I had weren't up to the job. This is a common problem actually, so if this applies to you, as a test maybe disconnect your phones when you might have the problem, assuming it is repeatable or regular enough to go without the land line for the duration.
Hope this helps.0 -

As stated if you are looking for effective support, forget the phone and go to the Members Forum. You can browse threads as a guest if you are not sure then register when you want to post. If you are out of contract you can change down a package and it will involve another contract. However if you call TT about a contract as an existing customer you should ask to speak to Retentions as they will be able to offer incentives to keep you that are not available elsewhere. Even if you do move there will be a contract involved somewhere but to reinstate a BT line there should be no charge - any charge should only be a normal 'service connection' usually around £30 (including router etc) not for the line.0 -
I want to leave Talk Talk but all new broadband providers want a BT line. I have spoken to BT who have informed me that it should not be a problem. However all providers tell me that after the BT line is activated you have to wait 5 days before calling to ask to subscribe. I really can't go 5 days without broadband - is there a way around this.0

I have been useing Plusnet for 2months, but I do not require large downloads. the (£9.99) package gives 2GB per month now. and if you use the service between Midnight and 0800hrs it does not affect your download allowance. Previously I was with Tiscali who were alright until I chose to upgrade after3.5 months nothing happened and I made numerous expensive calls. Their Customer Service is non existant and although I was able to obtain my MAC code quickly, they continued collect Direct Debits and I have only just sorted it out.
So far Plusnet has provided excellent Customer Service/Technical Help via ano1 number.0 -

Even though there seams to be the rumours on them they do not loose the numbers like BT and others, they are doing something right
I sorry I cannot agree with you, they have one of the worst Customer Services I havever encountered during my time with them.0 -

The short answer is no. I had the same problem although I did manage to sign up to Sky broadband the day after my BT line was reinstated. I used a mobile broadband dongle in the interim period (got the 3 £7.50 per month deal that was on here).0 -
What is the 3 broadband like?0

I too steered clear of Tiscali because of the bad Customer Service Reports. However my son has them and has never had a thing go wrong in 4 years. He does pay for the 8gb service, whether this is a factor, do not know. I am thinking of finding a cheaper option than Primus when my current contracte expires in November and will look at 02, Tiscali & Plusnet. Cannot get the cheap SKY deal though, not available in my area."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0
