Tiscali Free phone line rental

When trying to register for Tiscali's Option 2 package on the internet, a message was displayed to the effect that my local exchange had not been converted to allow Tiscali access, but that Tiscali would be continuing to "Roll Out Exchanges" during 2008. This meant that I could not have "Free Line Rental" yet. On checking with an operator on their contact telephone number I was told that "Tiscali would NOT be rolling out any more exchanges".
How can these people continue to get away with such blatant lying in their advertising and use of bold headline statements that, on reading the minute print detail, are again so mis-leading as to be fraudulent in their intent?

Tiscali IS continuing to roll out exchanges - whether yours is likely to be one of them is a different matter ofcourse... It's a numbers game - they will only make the investment if they are likely to recoup the very high costs of doing so through customer take up on their services...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! And as the business is up for sale, not very likely is it.
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Actually it is
But I guess unless you know what the business plans are for Tiscali then you'd assume not
Just because Tiscali are "for sale" doesn't mean that business stops... quite to opposite - Just over a week ago now Tiscali rolled out Annex M - aka ADSL2+... hardly the actions of a "flagging" businessDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
