kiwichick - The difference between the original price and the sale price is most definately "virtual".
(Unless you had £59.99 and were going to spend that amount anyway ... then it would become "actual" and could go in the pot. But, you've already said you wouldn't pay that amount anyway ;) )

The £23.50 could be either "virtual" OR "actual". If you have it to put into the pot, then do so :D:D:D If not, note it down as "virtual". ;)

Have fun at your Boots Xmas shop on Tues!! :T

Just had a thought. I'm getting meal allowances to cover every meal that I eat whilst I'm away. If I spend less than the allowance I get the money anyway. Should I put any 'profit' in the actual PMS pot?

    Yes, do :D:D:D

Racy - when you set your Goal (in your case, a BM) it doesn't have to be achieved on just one month ;) The PMS lasts the whole of the financial year; as and when you achieve your goal ... you simply set yourself another one :D

brummiebabe - as with kiwichick - if you didn't have that £8 to spend in the first place, then it is a "virtual" saving. You "saved" £8 but you haven't "gained" £8 to put into your pot.
Unless, you did have that £8 to spend but didn't need to because of the offers - in which case; you've saved £8 and "gained" £8 = £8 "actual" pin money to put into your pin money savings pot/account :D (Either way, well done :D:D:D )

Yorkielass - - sounds to me like you are doing well with your virtual savings! :T

Just a reminder that I'll be unsticking this thread some time late tomorrow - by which time it'll be the featured challenge in our Monthly Challenges sticky.

You can find the "Challenges" sticky at the top of the forum listing, or you can follow the clue in my signature any time you see it or...

..you can use the Monthly Challenges link in the Blue Bar at the top of every page which looks something like this:-

I'm excited now and determined to stick to budgets for November.

My virtual savings are looking good - a magazine subscription gave me hair straighteners worth £55 free so got two subscriptions

    £110

Another magazine sent me Calvin Keins "Truth" perfume

    £25

    Total so far £135 :j

So why am I still skint?

Probably because DHs expenses did not arrive and because I have already bought most of the Christmas presents so it should work out all right in the end!

Have not had an opportunity to calculate virtual savings, yet, but I know that my aPMS has got off to an ok start: 12.50 from 2nd income; c. £1.00 for wrapping 4 parcels with recycled paper; £1.00 for making 2 cards, and a sizeable £14.50 for having my hair cut at the local college. I make that spot on £29.00.

Oh, elona, reading your post has just reminded me, hope to finish Christmas shopping pretty soon, and there's some potential aPMS there too, if I come in under budget.

Today I spent £41 on christmas presents but I've saved £22 in the process.

I bought the last two books in The Dark Tower series for DH for christmas, bought 2 paperbacks (one for my daughter and one for MIL) and it was 3 for 2 at Ottakers so I treated myself to Shopped as the freebie as I've been wanting to read it for ages. Spending over £40 filled my Ottakers card so I get a free £15 to spend on more books which I will use to get some fairy ones for DD2 for christmas :D
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250

Well, I would! It looks like you are doing really well!

Didn't realise that Ottakers did a loyalty card "jobby", moggins - do you remember how much you need to spend to get £15worth on your card? Thanks a lot.
