I think it's only been something that they've done this year and you got one stamp for every £10 spent over the year. I only found out because I spent £60 on books for my course and almost filled the card in one go.

If you got 5 stamps you got £5 off and if you got £10 stamps then you got £15.

Hoping someone can clarify things for me.

I'm only Virtual Pin Money Saving at the moment - but that's just because I wasn't sure what my employment prospects were - but now with my impending job I reckon I can afford to start putting some of the money away.

So here's my question - my money in October was all through coupon use and BOGOFs.

Haven't done much shopping in November yet - but did save £5 with a code from firebox for part of OHs birthday present - so presumably that's actual saving as it's just like a coupon?

Now what if I use the amazon vouchers I've earnt through survey sites to buy people's Christmas pressies - would normally use these amazon vouchers to get bits I'm after - course books, fiction, had a couple of cheap DVDs to replace videos etc but am running out of things I want/need and was thinking I might use some of them to buy Christmas/Birthday pressies as got a DVD and a book lined up for OH already. Would you say this is pin money and if so how would you classify it?

Finally - I know many questions - today I went into boots and found I had vouchers for free pantyliners and free hair care mini - and so got them both. I would normally buy the pantyliners - well cheaper version, but not the hair care product, but am happy to try it out as it was free, so would anyone class these as pin money? and if so what sort?

Sorry to ask so many questions - I know it's up to individuals how they categorise things but I was wondering what others would do in these circumstances  thanks

I think for the free liners I would put the amount you would NORMALLY spend on the cheaper ones into PMS. As you wouldnt normally get the dearer one then the bit extra they would have cost is virtual. Hope this helps. The rest is a bit beyond me as I'm kinda new to this too.

  • Did an instore shop (rather than online) this week, due to being sent vouchers by Tesco.

Money still virtual (as can't afford currently to put it aside) but here's this weeks total:

    Multi buys £2.47
    Coupons £0.70
    Voucher (Tesco) £10
    Total: £13.17

    MONTH'S TOTAL SO FAR £55.10
    20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
    Christmas Saving £0/£1300

    Saving Target 2014 £25/£1000

Yorkielass Firebox code - in these circumstances, that would be actual to me.
Amazon - also looks like actual pms. ALTHOUGH, this year I've been working to a strict budget for Christmas pressies which has ASSUMED that I would get a couple of "survey-type" site gifts for people, so it would be VIRTUAL pms FOR ME. If my total Christmas spend comes to less than £250, anything remaining will be ACTUAL. Does this help, or confuse?

Not a great addition to the apms coffers this week for me, eg 2nd income should come through next week, just a 50p saving for a DIY card, and £3 from the OH's penny pot.
So, total aPMS this month stands at £32.50.

As you can see from my sig I think I have been putting the wrong thing into my PMS. For december I will put household PMS into one and xmas PMS into another. The xmas ones really being virtual as we have not saved anything for the xmas spend so any saving is a bonus :o

Arrrggghhh I've lost count again, I am truly rubbish at this. I did save 20 pound off my shopping today though using BOGOFs and vouchers so that isn't bad for one weeks shop.

Umm, was aiming for £100, but hasn’t quite happened: some things are still “work in progress”. Although coming in under budget for the Grocery Challenge has given me a bit of a boost (mostly morale-wise, rather than financial!), and 13.00 extra earnings have reached my account. So, I’m going to wrap November up here I think, with a total of £61.33.
