:j My new Panasonic breadmaker has just been delivered - I only ordered it yesterday from Amazon, on the saver delivery option, how's that for service? :D It will probably take me all evening to read the instruction booklet. Blow that, think I'll just quickly skim through and rush out to buy the necessary! :p

    Good luck! ;)

In answer to MATH, lots of people seem to be perfectly happy with the loaves that the cheaper BM's churn out so obviously they can't be that bad ;)

It's like everything else though, people have different tastes and preferences, and whereas some are quite happy to live on value brands (not knocking them as some are very good!) others will only eat gourmet foods! ;)

I think I fall somewhere in the middle, and whilst I will use value brands where I can get away with it, I do like my food to taste good (not quite at Gourmet or Michelin star standards yet though LOL!) but I suppose I am a bit of a foodie :o

I'll be interested to know how you get on with your new breadmaker - I'm planning to use any money I get for my birthday together with November pin money savings to buy the same model. My OH also thinks it will be something to clutter up the kitchen!

Think I'm gonna have to be patient and wait for the sales after Xmas for my BM...I'm also lusting after a slow cooker (cracked the one my Mum bought me putting in something too cold!!...am recycling the pot bit by using as plant holder) and an Eglu (know OH could make one out of wood but it wouldn't be the same!!!)

I'm fascinated to know how they make jam though...doesn't it get all sticky?

    How did it go????

I used mine on the first day I got it..instructions are easy, loaf delish! My own faves are the ciabatta, 5 seed loaf and the spicy fruit loaf. Not a dud all these months later! Brill machine!

Never ever was a lover of white pan loaves ( cheapo or expensive)..who can be, when brought up on the elusive scottish plain bread !!! I rarely see them these days but if I HAD to buy a loaf it waould be that one!!!

    You're all evil!

This is supposed to be our first proper month of budgeting but all this talk of breadmakers has made me really NEED one!

I was going to wait until christmas and ask for it for a pressie, but I don't know if I can wait that long.

That one from Argos for £40 odd sounds like the sort of thing I want and the price is fab! Just have to tamper with the budget a bit me thinks!

    Steady on...

I can't be sure of the model but I saw a morphy richards fastbake (definitely had a jam 'mode') in Sainsburys savacentre for £34.00

I'm not a prolific poster - can't see the point in joining in for just a yes or am no but £5.00 is £5.00

    Hope I've helped.
