The reason the reps don't want to give you a leaflet is that they earn nothing from it if you call direct or do it online. Same with door to door energy salesmen. They blitz an area and don't return so if they give you a leaflet they won't earn any commission.
One time I was walking home from Tesco with my shopping when I saw some energy salesmen in their red/orange jackets with the logo of their company on it (can't remember the company name now). I knew they were going to knock so I went online and did a quick Uswitch "quote". The doorbell went and I said to the young lady that Scottish Whoever were cheaper for me and showed her the screen on my laptop. "How did I know that she was selling energy products?" was her first question. Then she said "When did you get that quote? We could be cheaper now!":rotfl:The man without a signature.0 -
