Did anyone see Dragon's Den this week? There was a guy on there with this "wonderful" water purifying machine he was trying to get finance for. It turns out that he was a former Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman, and he was the most aggressive and bullying person I had seen for long time. I can just imagine him knocking on someone's door and then subjecting the poor householder to three hours of hard-sell before closing a sale.
He was proposing to sell these machines the same way, using commission-only salesmen going round house-to-house. Luckily the Dragons took an instant dislike to him, especially Deborah Meaden who said she hated the type of high-pressure tactics used by these sort of sales people. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
The dental insurance is part of AXA and trading under this name:

They've been in my local stores too. I just lie and say I'm pregnant and have a maternity certificate
Here I go again on my own....0 -

I saw that, and he was a nightmare. Not even a good salesman - just a bully!
I never buy anything on the doorstep or at a stall, and if they won't give me a leaflet and let me go away and think about it, then I'm not interested.
I had NPower give me the hard sale at the doorstep the other day, who didn't seem to want to take "no" for an answer, and took ages to get rid of, despite me pointing out that I only had them telling me they were the cheapest, which was obviously biassed! I eventually told them that I would check their prices on USwitch, and if they were cheapest, then I'd switch ONLINE!
Why do they always call round in the middle of Hollyoaks??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I went into a shopping centre that I had never been to before, and while I was a bit disoriented,I managed to get approached by an Npower sales person.Amongst other things, ,he countered my
"Well,I will be checking the prices of other utilities companies before I make my descision" ,with
"They don't publish their prices".

what do you expect from tesco - the biggest bullies going - just look at how they have used their bully boy techniques to stake their place in every community.
Tescos's are notorious for getting around plannng procedure, by submitting planning applications again and again till small councils cannot afford to keep going through the legal processes and give in.
Do not be fooled by the smiling face of big business, they are now taking over the private corner shops and we soon risk having very little choice but the big chains, who will then be free to set prices as they please.0 -

If I have helped you in any way, please thank me!

My OH nearly smacked a Tesco life insurance rep a few weeks ago. I had already said no thank you, but he insisted on following me asking why. I eventually told him why - because you won't cover me. Note: I am young and look healthy and reasonably fit. He kept insisting that they would cover me and I said I have a pre-existing medical condistion that precludes me from life insurance policies. He then told me I looked as fit as a fiddle and asked twice, loudly what it was. I said it was my business and he insisted if I told him, he might be able to help. By now I was really !!!!!! off so I just let him have it - I'm having treatment for breast cancer - now will you cover me.
He didn't even have the chutzpah to look embarrassed - just walked off!0 -

You should complain to Denplan about your treatment.
I do some mystery shopping and this was one of the jobs I was offered (although I couldn't take it) It's all well and good knowing that their people are saying the right things to the mystery shoppers when they are willing to sign up, but surely they need to know about the bully boy tactics they are trying on, to those shoppers who aren't interested.0
