Sorry not to have got back sooner - tried all the usual things (including cleaning the sky card) haven't tried the hairdrier idea though - wierd thing is that it seems to go off in the morning when the sun gets hot and comes back on when it has moved around the house - went off about 11 this morning and is back now - may be a coincidence but???? rang sky again yesterday and because it is so weird they offered a free courtesy call-out (didn't even have to threaten to cancel!!

It sounds like your dish needs a re-allignment, or possibly your LNB is faulty.

So he came back and changed the LNB and now we have 90% on the signal and a new box - now need to reprogramme magic eye on telly in the conservatory to the new remote - any ideas?

All you need to do is switch the line power on in your new sky box.The sky guy should have done this but hey ,you can do it yourself.

Press services button on your sky remote (in lounge)]

Then press 4 then 01 and select button. You then scroll down to rf output and turn it on.Then you scroll down to save settings abnd your tv link in other room sjhould now control your skybox.:T

There's no programming of the Sky Remote for the magic eye, it just works.

As you haven't changed your TV in the conservatory or left the remote without batteries for so many minutes or so then there's nothing to program as it would already be remembering which codes to use for your TV as the programming of the remote is to control your TV not to control your Sky box as the remote is designed to work the Sky box anyway.

What you do need to do is what's been mentioned above on your Sky box you need to enable power to RF2 where the Magic Eye is connected.

    [Services] 4 0 1 [Select]
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Correct, and the Sky Installer ( not Engineer ) should have done this as part of the service call..;)

You need to fairly quickly press:

    [Services] 4 0 1 [Select]

Ignore what's on-screen until you have pressed all the buttons, as it's a hidden menu and you won't find 0 listed, if you are too slow with 0 1 [select] it won't enter the installer menu.
