a bit of a wait then Lou, hope it works out ok. and if not then at least you are a step ahead of the game by being DF and having overpayments in the mortgage. it's the not knowing what's going to happen that's the worst though - you have my sympathies.

This evening I have mainly been working out how much I would need to save and overpay my mortgage by to buy a NICE house next year as opposed to something that would do this year... I think it's doable and that's even allowing a little more wriggle room (spends) and not including expenses. Fingers crossed I might actually manage this!

Well don't forget - prices are dropping - and that's usually the best time to upgrade. All other things being equal of course...

if I got what they estimate mine at I would be moving right now but the prices are so far removed from reality! I think they must not have much data from scotland as I reckon folk downstairs would be lucky to get what they paid in 2006 now and they are saying £10K more.

The doing up and selling idea should keep me focused on not wasting too much money and give me something to aim for, I know I could sell now but spending a bit on it will give me a better return and make it much nicer to live in meantime.
