Thanks for the feedback wombat42.I am hoping to keep all the funds I have just take a little out of the Allianz fund and spread it into two more funds from different sectors.Interesting fund the Marlborough ETF.Compared the two on HL site and shows the ETF looks less volatile, though even though JPM NR is down some what lately I still like the fund and will probably stick with it for the meantime.

The Marlborough fund contains shorting and some cash - thats why it has reduced volatility. It must be the least risky vehicle there is for being in commodities. Also it allows to invest direct in commodities rather than commodity producer shares.

    30% CASH
    30% Marlbough ETF Commodity fund
20% Blackrock Gold and General fund
    10% Eclectica Agriculture fund
    10% Sarasin Agrisar fund

I am thinking of shifting the Blackrock Gold and General fund to Investec Enhanced Natural Resources fund which i think is better than JPM Natural Resources fund

I have been looking for a relatively safe fund to bail out to after a commodity spike in a few years time. I am thinking of Legal and General Diversified Absolute Return fund which i would hope would beat cash at least.

    10% Eclectica Agriculture fund
    10% Sarasin Agrisar fund

How is the Sarasin fund doing compared to the Eclectica fund ?? ( I would look myself....but I'm waaay too lazy ) They appear to have different styles and mandates.

There is also Baring Agriculture new on the scene which has a lot of weighting on Emerging Markets Agri (which is more in keeping with Jim Rogers philososphy.

The Sarasin fund is more diverse and likely to follow the general share indexes than the Eclectica fund. Eclectica fund has a narrower remit and more commodity (such as Potash) orientated. The Eclectica fund has tanked more recently and is more volatile than the Sarasin fund.

Changing the slant slightly, where will the recovery start/develop best?

Assuming you already have a balanced portfolio and also have some cash to invest........
