why would i pay dealing charges and stamp duty on this fund? is it because it is offshore?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. It's an OEIC - no dealing charges or stamp duty apply, just the usual initial charge ( in this case, waived by HL ).

I am however quite top heavy in the Allianz fund and am looking to spread some of this over into other funds but am at a loss at the moment as to where to invest.

Well I did start transferring cash into equities, but that was soon bashed on the head when a certain fishing community decided to withhold my money.

No, There are widely differing opinions on commodities. The consensus is that they will do badly short term but maybe well long term. I am holding out for 10 years if need be, but should they do well in the short term i may well move some into cash.

Once the dust settles, BRIC is probbaly the place to be if you can stay invested for 5 years plus. Your JUpiter fund contains a big slug of Russia as well.

Assuming you have a hefty cash buffer and you can invest for 5 years plus I dont see any obvious reason to change. Marlborough ETF Commodity fund is a possible good alternative to your JPM and Jupiter funds.
