smashedbooboo wrote: »Right ok guys, sorry to say this, BUT !!!!!!, what the hell are we coming to. Is there really any need to be rowing like this, No disrespect and i have every respect for IA, but with things going on the last few weeks and the massive amount of support that has been shown to certain posters. ie: weller, and no one even with hardest heart can bypass what has happened to her. We have had some people that have been near breaking point and close to suicide. Where have we been. Supporting them. And that is what we are all about. Somebody is leaving for a while, ok, they need a break. END OF. Now while everyone is rowing on here there is someone out there posting asking for advice, help, support. I for one could with some of that. I am a long time poster, yet even i cant put down half of what i need to to get the right advice. Only because this is an open forum and i know that the outside world will read my posts and that will cause more trouble than its worth. This is my sanctuary. I come here because it keeps me sane and has stopped me from going to the bottle. Be it drink or pills. And i am sure there are many peeps in the same situatuon. Now all i will say is SHUT THE Fooooook up. I loves ya all
Please let this drop now, if this all goes pear shaped then i for one will not have anywhere to turn to. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Wholeheartedly seconded Smashed.
Political correctness blankets everything in this country, and we can all suffer from compassion fatigue once in a while. We are all individuals and have differing opinions, but a public forum like this is, to my mind, not a suitable place for a real-time slanging match. Apparently there has been unrest on other threads tonight. If it spreads then maybe the forums will be in danger.
I don't know the full history leading up to this altercation; that is not my concern. I think this thread has gone a bit O.T.T that is not a dig at anybody individually that is just an observation.
Life is full of big bad nasty and scary stuff without people on here turning on each other as well. This place is a Haven for some people. It is a lifeline, it is a place for people to come when they feel they have hit the bottom and have no where to turn and it is a place for people to come to climb back to the top. I know some people feel that they have been attacked on this thread but please think about others, yes the words may hurt and sting but they are pixels on a screen and if you disagree with somebody so much block them. It is all too easy to take offence to something written. How they are written and how they are read can be 2 completely different things. It would be a shame to see something we have all worked so hard on creating, and every single person who has posted has contributed, to see this site and forum go down hill. Think how you would feel if you hadn't had this site to help you? Are you willing to take that away from somebody else?
We are all human and we all make mistakes, that is life. If a person was perfect then they wouldn't be human and they wouldn't be inspirational. It is overcoming faults and achieving things and making mistakes which make some body inspirational as it shows that your target is attainable and that we can all do it.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I'm too much of a Huggie for all the 'debating'.

Well I think it's a disgrace and everyone should be ashamed of themselves. Hanging is too good for em!
I'd never stoop so low as to argue on an internet forum. I'm just far too nice for that!Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

There's a time and a place for hugging - I really don't want my accountant to hug me, good financial advice even if harsh and not what I want to here - the buying/rental (house prices has too many nutters - one recently arrested for something AK47 related) can be quite harsh as some of the people on there aren't vunerable or low just in need of a good slap - particularly some of the "how can I rip off my tenants and get away with it" ones0 -

I like your diary on MF - it's a good read, balance of work/life/time conflicts, which is my major money problem....0 -
Enough is enough, we are all in the same boat so lets just agree to disagree and sail on together.
My first reaction on seeing the title of this post when it first poped up was "oh dear here we go again!" I read the op's message and didnt feel surprised or let down, I actually felt we had an attention seeker trying to spit their dummy out of whilst making threats of a grand exit!
Sorry if that is an offensive paragraph but my point here is are we not allowed free speach on these boards? Of course we are but to some extent we ALL refrain from making it as society has its unwritten rules of conduct and politeness. Which I am thankfull for, treat others how you would like to be treated yourself is what I have always lived by and hopefully shall continue. Therefore this post is a 1 off from me, not a dig or jibe at anybody just me voicing my opinion and letting off steam. Sorry if this is the wrong place wrong time to do this.
Since my reply at the begining of this saga I have refrained from posting in fear of being lynched or abused by a torrent of reject.
It is no surprise to me that IA didnt carry out her own threats to leave. As someone said a grand exit that failed to be commited.
IA I have only felt your honest opinions being breathed on my SOA once and I respect the fact that they were your open opinions but from then on I have been shunned away from comunicating with you in particular as what you said was firstly not related particularly to my SOA (which was the subject for discussion and not my husbands lack of contribution) and secondly because in my vulnerability I felt hurt in my moment of need by your lack of subtleness with your mannerism.
However as I am now trying warily to pull myself together and move foward I would like to call a truce and appologise for any outburst as above.
Welcome back and thankyou for opening my eyes so abruptly. I now feel I have said my appologies in public and am at peace, a little nervouse for what banter may go on in future between myself and IA but sure I will get over it in my own time own spaces own way.
From catching up with this board since logging off last night I now suggest once and for ever this thread either be locked or deleted so the DFW comunity can be restored to its former happy comfy safe house.
Best wishes and thanks to everybody.0
