I'm always torn on these goodbye threads - I think it's very sad when people who I see as positive members of the board decide to go but I also feel that if from their perspective they need a break, then of course they need a break and I shouldn't be trying to guilt them into staying.

More seriously, I have no idea what the current kerfuffle is about - all I know is that IA is someone who is very hard on herself and yet very forgiving of us when we make mistakes. She takes criticism far too seriously and much too much to heart and yet has the tough love, say it like it is Barnaby Bear eating out of her hand (a testimony to what an honest, lovely person she is).

Like so many other people have said, our journey through life is full of ups and downs whether you are dealing with debt, trying to lose weight, addictions or whatever your personal bugbear is. I appreciate IA sharing all those ups and downs with us and her empathy when other people are having trouble.

You only fail when you stop trying and I see no evidence that IA has stopped trying.

PS Doesn't bother me if IA mentions people - they posted on her thread so presumably don't mind being mentioned in public.

I wasn't going to post on this thread but I must comment on the reference to Rayday. Rayday is always helping posters who need advice, those who are really worried . I A is always talking about herself. She asked for advice and when it wasn't what she wanted to hear she ignored it. Someone suggested that she donate the tattoo money to charity but she wouldn't do that, selfishly choosing a (in my opinion) ridiculously large tattoo, which wouldn't benefit anyone but herself. Also if you've left the boards in such a public way, why return so quickly.

I agree with the above however I feel the second part of your post just overdone it a bit in expessing your personnal opinion. You are entilted to this but I feel not really at this moment , on this thread , perhaps at another time may have been more benificial to all parties.

This is EXACTLY why IA feels like she does :rolleyes:

She is one of the least selfish people I know and for you to think otherwise shows that you dont have any insight into her *world* either it be in real life or on MSE.

IA I think you are bang out of order blaming me. I have not commented on your spending, I have no idea what all of this topic is about tattoos and stuff. If someone else upset you that is yours and there problem.

Like I said the last time I had anything to do with you was when you opened a topic up asking about becoming a CAB abvisor.

I think you are being very unfair you make it sound like I have been hounding you and I am genuinely confused. I have no idea about your level of debt or anything because I do not read your diary topics. I have not seen any other topics of about your debt.

Frankily I think you are being very unfair naming me for no reason but I doubt you will have the honesty to admit I have done nothing but comment in one topic in which you asked general opinions and the only crime I commited then was to not type an answer you wanted to hear!

True, Rayday is generally a very supportive person, and makes some excellent posts.....however, she did come across as particularly critical of IA for some reason. It may have been well intentioned, but unfortunately it was badly timed.

What a load of absolute rubbish. IA has just completed her 3rd (?) race for life in memory of her Mum, raising money for charity AND she works on a volunteer basis for the CAB. I am actually stunned that you would make such a ridiculous, and downright nasty post.

And to answer your comment that she is always talking about herself.....it's a DIARY.....it's about her life.....:rolleyes: :rolleyes:

No wonder a lot of people are disappearing from DFW - this is supposed to be a nice, friendly, supportive board, but comments like this are exactly why people are leaving.

Sorry did not realise that we had to show a certain person " Respect ".I try to treat everyone with respect and politness. I thought this was a Public forum and we could post an opinion that we felt as long as it was not racist etc.
It is unfair that we should not disagree with certain posters just because they seem to hold court on DFW.

I really feel that it is just a personality clash between them. We dont get on with everyone in life but we get on with life. Time to get back to life and stop taking sides in the playground me thinks
