Hi Richard,
Thanks for that - will give them a call tomorrow. Booking seats together would take one thing off my mind!

Sorry rlc22,
For some unknown reason I saw the name Richard and replied using that name! It would be spooky if that really is your name!
Thanks,

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]We have just been informed that from 1st October 2008 Orlando International Airport will be implementing a Customer Facility Charge. All clients collecting cars from On Airport rental desks will incur a charge locally at the time of collection.
The cost of the charge will be $2.50 plus tax for each day of the car rental to a maximum of $12.50 plus tax.
This charge has been implemented by Orlando International Airport NOT by the car rental companies and affects all car hire companies.

Never mind, those poor Americans need the money more than you do. And the charges are in dollars, so probably are equivalent to just a few pennies.
Think of it as charity to an ailing economy.0 -

Hi Aiden, am in San Diego now, and just whizzed a letter off to your company. you may have a policy about not splitting families, but no one seemed to want to implement it. we were just told the flight was full so nothing could be done. i managed to swap with a woman who had been split from her friend, so we ended up with a centre row of 3 for my daughters and partner, and i was in between 2 strangers in the row behind for 11 hours. i will never pay extra to upgrade again. thanks for your help. it's just a shame no one else at Virgin cares.
at least the sun is shining here eh?Blonde jokes are one-liners so men can remember them...;)0 -

Hi Debs,
Have you checked your seating for your return flight? You have a good chance of getting seats together if you check in online 24 hours before you fly home. I know that this isn't ideal if you're on holiday and wanting to spend the day enjoying yourself rather than sitting on a computer, but might be worth giving it a go as all the other seats are released at this point (excl. bulkhead and exit seats).
I've got my fingers crossed for seats together on your way home

Hi Aiden
what a star you are, answering all these questions after doing a day's work: that's dedication. :A
Wonder if you can put my mind at rest on this one. I sometimes have to use a walking stick (try to manage without as I hate using it) that folds up and is made of lightweight metal. I'm just a bit concerned that if I have it folded in my handluggage, don't want to put it in my case as I'll probably need it after an 8 hour flight to Newark then changing planes for another 4 hour flight, that it may be taken off me as it could, at a stretch, be deemed an offensive weapon.
Do you think that I should just use it and then fold it up after we have cleared security at Gatwick.
Any help muchly appreciated :beer:0 -
Hi rlc22, we cannot access our seats, and haven't been able to do so for the month or so when we discovered we had been split. i can access my booking (the single seat), and we only knew we had been split because that had moved. when we go on to amend seats for the 3 seat booking, we get a prompt that says we cannot amend our seats and they will be allocated at the airport.... well and truly stitched up! (we only know where they are because we phoned and asked - but have been told nothing can be done because the flight is full)
so, i have asked Virgin, if seats are allocated at the airport, then surely those arriving at check-in after us should expect to be in different seats too...?
even though we booked premium, which allows priority boarding, we still checked in 3 hours before at heathrow, and no one gave a flying fig. not looking forward to the flight home. i am only just getting into sleeping on planes, but i know i won't if i'm sat next to a stranger. really v angry now.Blonde jokes are one-liners so men can remember them...;)0
