Do Virgin allow people to travel with an air cast on?
I have family travelign later today with Virgin and shes done one of her tendens in
They have been waiting for a long time for ths holiday so they didnt want to cancel so they have risked going to the airport
why they want to do Orlando with a foot in a cast I have no idea but each to their own I supposeIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
LOL
yes, I have had people on with casts.
The rule in relation to "reduced mobility" is that they must be self reliant or travelling with a carer.
The one big thing is that he/she must be able to get onto the aircraft on there own, or by the help of special pre-booked assistance.
If need be if he/she is in agony there is an onboard wheelchair to help he/she to there seat.
Orlando is a long flight and he/she will not be allowed an exit row ( more leg room) in Economy due to the restrictions of sitting by a door.
gatwick are generally Ok and should sort them out
Hope they have funI am a Travel AgentMy company’s ABTA number is V2043. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.

Oh dear, the spelling police are up and about early today
'Welcome', or should I say 'welcome back' Aidenr - given your job you will probably be inundated with queries0 -
Hi aidenr, perhaps you can help me...?
my family is flying out to LA on Saturday with Virgin. we had some flying club points from previous trips, and amassed lots more with a Virgin Amex card, so thought we would use them towards an upgrade to Premium Economy, as we figure this will be the last time my eldest daughter will holiday with us. we only had enough for 3 of us though, so booked (via the phone) as two separate bookings (3 + 1), paying full price for one seat. The operator said she would link the bookings so we wouldn't be split.
we booked last september, on the first day the seats became available, and immediately chose two sets of two seats by the window.
a few weeks ago I checked our booking, and we had been split. my partner and my daughters are now in the last row of three in the middle, and I am placed on an aisle a few rows down. on the way back it's something similar. Actually, the plane has been changed, which is the reason for the seat change, but our linked booking wasn't honoured when they reselected for us.
my partner and I are gutted. we have phoned Virgin but they say it's all allocated (there is apparently another row of seats free but they are not yet allocating them). We were told that Virgin do have a policy of not splitting families, and we can ask at the desk when we check in if we can be moved.
So, what do you think the chances are that we will be seated together...? Do you really try not to split up families, and how much clout will we have for booking so early?
it's a long way to sit next to a complete stranger!
Thanks in advance :cool:Blonde jokes are one-liners so men can remember them...;)0 -
Welcome Aid. Ignore the pedants. Language is all about communication and I understood exactly what you meant. It's sad these clever clogs can spell but do not have the ability to keep their keyboard shut when the meaning behind the message is obvious.0

no offence guys, but i asked for a bit of help and my post has now been lost amongst the banter. i also have pet hates re spelling, but i'm not so condescending that i'd waste time and effort pulling up others...Blonde jokes are one-liners so men can remember them...;)0

I have just found this site this morning and after reading through a few of the forums i am amazed the amount of uncalled for spiteful comments made.
People take the time out to help others and are then put down because of a spelling mistake.
Maybe the people who make these comments could be doing something more useful - how about helping people with adult learning difficulties.
Sorry to the person who asked for help originally - i dont normally reply on forums just read them, but i was so angry :eek:0 -
My question to Aidanr is: Do you wish you hadn't bothered now???
I think it's fair enough to jump on the back of people who text speak, or are obviously lazy (LOL - I mean what the ****? Does anyone actually Laugh out Loud? Or do you just smile a bit?) making it harder for other people to understand what is going on.
But there is a fine line between picking people up due to minor spelling problems and bullying, after all you do not know what their background is.
So please, give it a break.
PS Can I be the first? Aidanr, i'm flying with Virgin soon can you get me an upgrade?0 -
First
