Thanks for that, the code works perfectly however, the phone is now asking for a security code and when I enter 12345 it states its not the correct code even though its not been changed...

Nope, its not that either.

I was reading somewhere that of this happens after unlocking then the security locks needs resetting and this can only be done by a data cable.

Could that be whats wrong?

you sure it's security code and not Pin code or PUK code ??

you can read the security code with infra red or cable with a bit of software called "Gammu"
