Each time you enter a wrong code and it says code error, that counts as one strike. 5 Strikes and the phone will need a cable unlock, down the market :j . It will still work with original network however.

There was no message saying "code error". Just the screen blanked out before I finished entering the code I started again several times.
Can you suggest another code?

GUIDE TO ENTERING CODES
please remove sim card before using the code

in the code, you will also notice the p, w and + symbols...
to get the p symbol, press the * key 3 times within 1 second
to get the w symbol, press the * key 4 times within 1second
to get the + symbol, press the * key 2 times within 1 second

If the code is sucessful, you should see
"sim restriction off"
on the screen... if you see "code error",
this means that you have the wrong code for your phone...

For security can you remove my imei number from the post you quoted please,

Just wondering if we should ask a mod to erase all them imei no's considering for a insurance/lost/stolen handset quote you need to give an imei number & posting them on the forum allows anyone access to them, then some poor sod gets thier phone blacklisted ( I know someone this happened too, & the network was powerless to help as the phone was blocked by another mobile company & since the imei was reported by a user registered with them they would not entertain the claim that infact the handset was owned by them ), what do you all think? should I not bother the mods or should I?
