What is this EMEI number everyone is talking about and where will I find it??

imei number is on the sticker under battery or shows when you press *#06#
but it usually says restricted or similar if its locked.
if the sim works ok in other phones then it sounds like a hardware fault
1st check the phone is set to auto network and not manual.

if you post the imei original network and nokia model, someone will give you the code

Ok I have the emei number it is
351111102408390
phone - Nokia 7650
Can someone please help with an unlocking code and also simple instructions of how to do it as this is my first time - i'm an unlocking virgin!!

On main mobile forum it was suggested that I simply put 'nokia 7650 free unlock code' into google. The beginning of this thread tells you how to go through with the unlock once you have a code and suggests which codes are the best, I took the plunge and did exactly that and now have an unlocked phone- FAB
Thanks to all for the help - this site is just fantastic and I'm addicted to money saving. I now have a better phone than before, it's unlocked without costing me anything and I get occasional £5 virgin sims from watching one of the forums - what more could a girl ask for!!!!
All I need now is the part-time job i'm after to pay for my uni fees and I will be one happy lady.(see my posting on jobs forum)
