do i now have to register a new sim card . cos sceen says insert sim card

i have put a tesco sim card in on pay as you go

insert sim card usually means it cant read your sim or there is a fault? not trying to use it on 3 are you? if so it wont work
make sure sim is in correct way round (easy mistake to make)

i only have a orange phone here .
