thanks drahcir - swapped over the sim to an irish o2 one and now it's coming up with invalid sim. Any idea's or will should i bring it to a shop and have them work the magic?

what did it say when you entered the code ? if it said code error then code is wrong
post your imei here and you will get the correct code
(you have put the code in using the irish o2 sim havent you?)
dont forget you only get 5 tries

thanks again Drachcir - i have tried it both with the uk and irish sim cards. i try putting it in on the screen where it says invalid sim card and it will let me out in all the code except for the last # and then nothing happens, i have no option for ok or anything like that. My imei is 355398008404062.

assuming its orange uk this should be the code
#pw+218195234613304+7#
put a non orange sim in and enter the code exactly as written
use the * key to get the PW+ symbols

also try entering it without sim card
