Yep. Default date should be no later than the date of your bankruptcy order.

    Time to get letter writing......

  • Thanks fermi your a lifesaver, I always like to check with someone who actually knows what they are doing when it comes to stuff like this : D
  • Right I have my discharge letter from the OR in hand and on the back is a form 6.82 Notice Under Section 279(2) of the insolency act 1986. SAying that the OR thinks it unnecessary to investigate the bankrupts affairs. What I want to know is this form ok to send to creditors as proof of ED. Rang court for a Certificate of Discharge and they want £60 , no chance, can't afford it lol. Thanks in advance.

Most creditors seem to be OK with that letter.

I think someone here had a creditor get 'snotty' about accepting it, but that seems to have been an exception so far.

  • How do the courts justify charging £60 for the certificate, its crazy!! Thanks fermi, again : )
  • I contacted my OR office who happily sent me out a short note saying i had been discharged and was no longer classed as being BR free of charge. I have since used that letter to send off to the credit companies re: getting info changed on my account. Have you tried asking for this letter already?

  • Its been just over a week and I still haven't received my Credit Report from Equifax and can find no contact details for this company to ask whether or not they received my application and postal order, should I give them more time or reapply? If anyone has a contact number I could maybe ring them up. Thanks.
Paul, I am going to try using the letter that i got from my OR which was stamped by the court hopefully there will be no problems or I will give that ago.

Hi, I got my early discharge last week. How soon should i apply for the credit reports from Experian etc to begin the clean up process? I don't want to do it too soon if they haven't got all the info from the OR about my discharge. Cheers guys x
