Afternoon all,
I was declared bankrupt in March 2017 and discharged as expected 12 months later in March 2018. In June 2019, I had to write to the various lenders to ask that a number of credit record errors be addressed, and to my knowledge, all replied and resolved the errors in question. I was looking at my records again last week and noticed that despite me thinking the problems had been resolved, there are new issues showing in my credit history for the accounts in question.
Whilst the recorded "default date" in most cases is accurate, my records continue to show the account in default on a monthly basis right up to the discharge date, and in some cases well beyond (July 2019 for example). Is this acceptable or do I need to contact the relevant lenders again?
I have to contact two of the lenders anyway as they seem to have reverted to incorrect default dates on Transunion and are no longer marked as settled on Experian, but do I also need to contact the lenders who are showing monthly defaults beyond my bankruptcy (or) discharge dates?
Thanks for your help,

Joydeep said:Hi everyone, its great to find a site where we all help each other through our post bankruptcy problems.
Okay, so here is my story -
I declared bankrupt 27 July 2007 and was discharged 27 July 2008. I had 5 accounts that were defaulted and I have got them all satisfied apart the one from Welcome Finance. Just sent them a follow up letter regards 'according to the DATA PROTECTION ACT, information they hold about me on the CRF's is incorrect. Hopefully this will be rectified soon thanks to info I have found on this thread.
Now, onto my problem -
I have a company called Bibby Financial who have a CCJ against me. This was placed in May 2007 (two months before my bankruptcy). I included this debt in my bankruptcy order. Now, I am trying to get get this debt satisfied, is this possible?
I have spoken to Bibby Financial a few times and they said it will be sorted but I've got a feeling they won't sort it out. Are there any other ways around it.
I went to the county court with my bankruptcy order showing them that the debt was placed in the order. I also showed them my discharge certificate to prove I had been discharged. I then requested a certificate of satisfaction and they said no. They said I hadn't actually paid the debt off.
My main aim is to have a clean credit file (apart from the satisfied bankruptcy). Having a CCJ is gonna be a pain in the !!! but having it satisfied on my CRF's would be much better!!
Any views or comments would be very grateful.
Kind Regards - Joy
Do Experian have to record this account as a default? If so I will request it to be changed and have a date same as my bankruptcy. How can they show it settled 08/12/03 and then partial setlement 04/05 ? Which date is used to keep this on the file for 6 years?
Sorry for all the queries but in present climate getting a mortgage will not be easy with any sort of bad history.

Hi guys,
little late to the party, BR was discharged 2019, only now starting my cleanup and getting ready to contact ex creditors.
I have a unique issue in that I no longer have the paperwork for those account and as such do not have full account numbers. How big a deal is this? Can I just replace with my details and let them find it from there end?I am rather lucky in that all default dates show as within around a month of the br start date, unfortunately a lot of the accounts still show as default, I am tempted to just leave this as they will all still wipe off around the time the br does.

Does anyone know the address of First Direct's data control officer? I know they are part of HSBC, but a search against them at the ICO database provides too many hits and I don't know which one is responsible for FD.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi
Long story short - declared bankrupt May 2015, discharged 2016.
The defaults on my credit file - will they drop off 6 years post default date OR 6 years post bankruptcy discharge date?
Many thanks

Hello All
Declared bankrupt 2012, Discharged 2013. Built up a squeeky clean credit file. Have decent enough score. Don't borrow any money or have any credit anymore.
Credit Karma alerted me that my credit score has gone down after receiving information from transunion.
Credit Karma show I have lived at my current rented address since September 2012.
However, Transunion's information on Credit Karma shows I have only lived at my current rented address since 06 Feb 2015 and my previous reported address as The Insolvency, Official Receivers Office, Leeds A 3rd Flo, Or, 1 City Walk, Leeds, LS11 9DA from 2nd Jan 2014 and reported by Santander bank on 2nd Jan 2014.
Clearly wrong but also discloses my bankruptcy in a roundabout way. My account with Santander was closed prior to Bankruptcy in 2012.
I have read stickies and searched but most info is about wrongly listed debts and I can't anything similar. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this corrected, please?0 -
