AAAAAGGGHHHH that makes me so mad. who do these women think they are? I used to work in a large multi-national and if my manager had heard me say anything that may have been offensive or personal to the customer I would have been in serious trouble. I can't believe the cheek of some of them.
When I first started bootsing (not so long ago) the very first glitch i tried out, and failed to get, was nearly enough to put me off for life. I was nervous, the boyfriend wouldn't stand near me and the SA was horrible. It was the NC pink bag thing. I had lifted the wrong bag and had put it through with some natural collection shower gel. It didn't ring through as free and when I queried it she said, oh come on, a £8.xx bag for that? I don't think so hen. what were you thinking, that could an £8 bag for free. haha, no thats not the way it works (then to other SA) You wouldn't expect to get a bag like that free with a wee shower gel etc etc.
i walked off shaking with embarrassment and rage at her. loudmouth.
I feel for you, but don't let the bint upset you. if that's what she has to do to get her kicks, god help her.

I asked her politely for a refund and she started to put the bikni back on the hanger and said i will have to take some points off your card, i said ok.
Gave her the card and she was doing something on the till with the recipt then she started huffing and puffing and taking a while, then she called another sa over and started to say that i come in all the time with stuff i have bought from other stores and asking for refunds. And thats she fed up of me doing it. I haven't had a refund for ages and don't go to lots of other stores. I said that i don't do it all the time. She said why did you take it back to leeds where you got it from, i said that i live in wakefield, she said i know where you live. I told her that she shouldn't have my address and she says she doesn't she knows everyone. Then she tried taking 200 extra points off, i had bought a timedelay product and had a 200 point from the magazine and told her this, she kept saying i have to take the points off, i tried showing the other sa where on the recipt the product was and then got a time delay voucher out to show her and she said how many have you got, you are not suppose to have more than one. I said to her that it wasn't my fault she didn't had a attuide with me and that she had tried to get my card taken off me, she denied this. She was doing this in front of a line of customers, then she said to the customer next to me tha you don't have any problems with me and where is your mum. So she clearly knew this customer. By this point i was nearly in tears and she had given me my ten pounds back but because i was so upset i didn't reliase. She then got this other customer to tell me that i had been given it back. I did ask for the manager but was told she wasn't in store today. I told her that i would be speaking to customer services and the store manager about the way she was treating me. She was really nasty with me and said that she had to go before she lost her temper. She was determined to embrass me in front of customers.
Then she started going round saying wheres the team leader and trying to get staff and this customer to back her up. I got in touch with my oh to come to speak to the team manager with me. The team manager came to speak to her first and she had the customer who was her friend telling the team manager what had happened.
I explained to the team manger what had had happened and that the customer was her friend and she apologised and said she would speak to the member of staff and that it isn't a problem for me bringing something back.0 -

Maybe this was the case a few years ago and since then they have changed their minds.
I pay with points for my nappies sometimes but I do find some SA look funny when you say you want to pay with points. As if it is not allowed? Why else have a card where you can collect points to spend? If you cannot spend them? Strange people.0 -

Oh my god! Doesn't she know that "the customer is always right". I would put in writing a formal complaint to this branch and send a copy of your letter to Boots head office, then I would expect an apology from this SA in front of staff and as many instore shoppers as possible. Who does she think she is? There's NO WAY she should have a job dealing with members of the public.
Stay positive and don't let her win. :hello:0 -

Holy cow, that's awful! Any idea why she is picking on you? Some sort of prejudice or jealousy perhaps? Or maybe she's just a bully? I wish there were an easy answer on how to deal with this. I think I'd stop shopping at Boots unless they either fired that SA or made her give you an apology -- that's what I'd be going for at this point. Send a letter to the topmost Boots exec you can find.
Edit: Just remembered something my hubby told me last night as I was telling him of some of the awful treatment people get at Boots. Which was: Who cares what some SAs say in their snotty comments? They don't matter in your life one bit. And if the worse thing that happens is they take your card away, again, who cares? Don't go to Boots, or shop without a card. And if you lose points, again, it's not like we won't eat this month because we lost points on your Boots card and it doesn't matter that much. If someone's being awful, ignore them. (hard not to get upset, but try, as that cow is simply of no importance).0 -
Sorry to hear of your experience moneysaver, all these stories of rude sas is really getting on my pip. If i was a sa there is no way on earth i would ever be rude to anybody, Same as in day to day life! Seems to me some of them like their little 'power trip' I must say though that I am extremely lucky and have very nice sas in my local bar one whos not rude as such, just a bit of a misery!'They only had one cow!'0

I topped up my phone this lunchtime with my points - no problem at all!
there are some really nasty SA's out there - they wonder why they cant get promoted to management level, I would love to tell them its because they have no people skills!
its not even the fact that they take your card off you/deduct points/not allow extra discounts its the fact that they seem to take great pleasure in bawling people out in public.
luckily I've not had the pleasure of one of these nasty SA's who broadcast to the whole shop as I'd give her what for - same as if I heard a customer in front of me being verbally abused.0 -
It's pretty disgusting the way some SA's speak to customers nowadays. Only yesterday my SA slapped my receipt and card down on the surface and walked away from the till to speak to someone in the office. I called after her 'Are we done then, do I have everything?' and she hesitated and then said 'Oh yes I'm sorry, thank you, there's your receipt' I was embarrassed but still felt the need to point out the lack of customer care.
It's almost as bad as those who still don't know how to place change in your hand. The coins don't get balanced all over any bank notes, which in turn, is placed on top of the receipt. I love it when someone actually gets it right, if they don't I stay still until I've sorted out the handful of chaos they've given me.
Having said all this most of the SAs here are lovely, there is a supervisor here who is really nice and friendly and the staff on the chemist are great!
On topic, saw some No 7 day and night cream reduced today (cant remember what to exactly tho') possibly £7.** or something similar. It was in the small Chester store, where the old pink boxes are still £6.50. :rotfl:

My DSGF is an Alliance Boots SA and works alongside another SA who has been repeatedly warned about her attitude to customers, staff and work in general. It's got to the point where the area manager has become involved.
From what I can gather Boots does take complaints from customers very seriously and are more likely to act upon them than a complaint or grumble from a colleague. In her case they are hoping that a customer will make a complaint and they can get something down in writing, often other SA's are reluctant to complain formally.
If an SA is rude, or downright rude as we hear from time to time on these boards, then it's likely that she/he has done the same thing before and the manager may well be waiting for a customer complaint in order to take action.
I would definitely report it at least to the team leader or manager, there's absolutely no excuse for belittling a customer or making them feel uncomfortable.
I'm glad to say that SA's like that are in the minority, most of the ones I've come across are usually very helpful.0 -
I had a very rude SA once when the perfume voucher was about. She point blankly refused to check the price on one of the perfumes as she "knew" it was at the price shown (I was sure it was cheaper) anyway I ended up buying the smaller bottle of perfume to only find out later in a different boots that the bigger bottle was indeed cheaper as I had thought. So I took the perfume back the next day and got the one I wanted and also rang CS to complain about her attitude. I did get some points to say sorry and was told this would be passed on to the store manager.
Since this complaint the SA is sooo lovely (not sure if she knows it was me who complained) I did feel guilty for complaining but thought that she should always be this nice so it did some good me complaining in the end.
Will not spend more money, but will spend more time looking for that great bargain!
