I went to Boots today to use up my last Baby Expert and Med Preg vouchers before the offers end. I tried to use the new £5 till spit on a baby sunsafe swimsuit & matching hat which came to £19 (till spit says it can be used against beachwear). I also tried to get the soltan kid's coloured sunstick @ £5.99 (not sure what it was called exactly), well I picked up 2 because they're BOGOF. So that came to £24.99 but the till spit didn't work?! It didn't beep and the SA tried it a few times but the till was having none of it. Don't know if it makes any difference but I was also doing the expert and med preg glitch on this transaction. I'm just wondering if Boots are having trouble with this till spit and has anyone been able to use it today without any problems on a genuine purchase?

When you used the till spit ( or tried to ) today was it the same store that you managed to us it in the other day?
This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

Dispatches tonight on Channel 4 is on "Sandwiches unwrapped." It investigates the nutritional value of sandwiches from top retailers and exposes some unhygienic practices. Since so many like to buy sandwiches at Boots, thought some of you might want to know what goes into them. I don't know if Boots specifically is mentioned, or if maybe one of the companies that supplies their sandwiches might be. I'll probably skip it (at least half of it) as it conflicts with Panorama and by the time the repeat is on we'll probably be watching a movie.

It's on at 8 on Channel 4, and again at 9 on the +one channel. Please report back if they mention Boots! :)

read a preview of this in one of the sunday papers-- upshot was 'buy your sandwiches at Boots' !!!!

Maybe the expert glitch took your spend down and confused the till? Has anyone been able to use this on a genuine sale without a 241 or 342 or a points voucher (not likely on this forum I know ! ) ?

    Hi Sam,
Yes I used my £5 till spit today, but sadly only on a genuine purchase lol :o
    I bought
    2 x No 7 factor 50 facial anti-dark spot sun cream = £10.50
    No 7 gwp
    3 x Kalms (3 for 2 @ £5.99 each) £11.98
    Total £22.48
Handed over till spit and 500 points on facial No 7. No beeps and total fell to £17.48.
Very strange that the voucher wouldn't work on swimwear and suncare  I thought that the tills must have been adjusted to only deduct £5 once the spend on included products had reached £20, but you've just scuppered my theory :rotfl:
So no idea what's going on I'm afraid  I guess it's possible that either the med or expert vouchers stopped the till spit from working, as Sarah found with the ts vouchers
Did the SA not over-ride the till for you Sam seeing as you clearly spent over £20 on the right products??

checked .com -no emery boards . Cheapest is nail buffer at £4.

Checked my local at lunchtime and they had lots of JK emery boards @ £2 so I'll be back on Wednesday.

Went to another boots on my way home and got 2 X time delay micro dermabrasion refills reduced to £2 with 200 points coupons each and a witch hazel mask at 99p with 100 points coupon.

I am thinking of trying the clinique 3 step program and paying with points. What is the most efficient way to do this? I saw the "try for £20" banner ad but can't work it out. Can I use any vouchers if I'm paying with points e.g. total spend? TIA

As it wouldn't work I asked her to void off the Soltan £5.99 BOGOF items as I didn't really need them. I think she may have have over-ridden (is that a word? lol) the till but she was looking quite confused whilst looking at the screen and I didn't want her to call a supervisor over and then draw attention to the Expert glitch. She was really lovely though and very voucher friendly :D

Went in to stock up oh tabs for festival - got a voucher from ad. card machine for 200 points if I spent £20 on travel skincare.

    2 pack hayfever tabs 2 for £3
    indegestion tabs
    paracetamol

all for £11 and a bit plus 200 points more.

PProb could have got hayfever tabs cheaper but extra points was good. Plus there are 10 of us goin campin at fest so 3 packs imodium prob needed! (sorry tmi hehe)
