    Forgot to ask Emmy,

What sort of soup has dumplings in it, I have heard of mince and dumplings but not soup, I am intrigued, please tell me how you make it.

I'll need to try that, I've got a recipie index from old style, it's really interesting I love cooking and like making everything I can from scratch when DH is here.

Going out now, see you later.

  • Thanks for the support guys!!!

I would love to start making soup but not really sure where to start - does anyone have an idiots guide???

Also if there is a way to make it like tinned (so OH will eat it too) then that would be great!!!

We went to Legoland today - we used a BOGOF voucher from Tesco and had an amazing day - only thing is i could not convince OH to take a packed lunch so we ate a lot of very expensive rubbish (he has been a darling and is paying for everything with the extra funds he has raised by selling some of his things)

Blue - do you remember i said i had £40 to last me until pay day (which is this friday)??????????

You are going to be so proud of me - i have £34 left!!!!!!!!!!!

OH has been buying some of the general rubbish i would normally buy but ive not splurged on anything and now its less than a week to go and im quietly confident that i will be able to cope.

Also all of this walking that you have all been doing has inspired me. Has anyone got any idea of where i can get a cheap (but relatively accurate) pedometer from - ive been trying to start using the Wii fit again but havent got the motivation to get up that hour earlier than i need to while im still poorly (off for ultrasounds on my Kidneys on Friday) but was thinking if i can just increase the walking more then at least its more exercise - only problem is i need some numbers to do it if that makes sense.

Puzzled.... I've been writing a diary too. In fact, now I've looked at it i've been keeping it on and off for two years!!! eeek! Its made me feel even more determined to get to the way i want to be cos I dont wanna still be writing it in another two years!!!!!
Here's to small steps to success! :j

Hi Free - 2 years  - i dont have that much commitment lol

Well im guessing you know where you want to be and everyone on here can help with that if you need us - there are also a few (Skint Lynn and Blue especially) that will give you a well meant kick in the backside if you need one (which i do every now and again lol)

  • puzzled - i guess writing it down will really help u see where your downfalls are. Prob something I would benefit from, but i think i know mine already... sugar lol... even though i feel like crap after ive had it.

slowlyfading - well done on doing a low fat curry :)

I did a good 45 min walk today but i have also purchased ferero roche today again *doh* so i know ill end up eating them and undoing all the good work the walking did! Still need to do my squats and tummy crunches for today as i haven't done any yet

    Thanks Lilmiss

Ferero roche are the one choc i cant resist - but i dont buy them anymore - OH is allergic so they are all for me and its way too tempting to eat all of them in one sitting and then to get another box for tomorrow just in case and eating that too :o

    Puzzled,

I think I've got one of these in the shop. Pm me your address and I can send you it. It's just lying there anyway.

As for the soup, it is dead easy. Water, stock cubes, veg, (anything you have lying around), garlic or something for taste, boil then simmer until the veg is cooked. Then blend/liquidise it. Your Oh should eat it as it will be smooth like tinned stuff.

Soup is the easiest thing to make and as you know it is good for you. Potato and leek is easy. Potatoes, 3 or 4, 3 leeks, garlic, chicken or veg stock cube, water. Chop it all up, put stock cubes in, boil then simmer until everything is cooked through. Then blend it. Some people add cream at the end but you don't really need to. It is gorgeous.

  • ok ANOTHER bad food day for me :( seriously ive just hit a bad run. I need to go and buy lots of fruit and try to get myself free from sugar cravings again! No treat day for me every again! i think this is part of my problem. Oh likes a treat every friday and i feel obliged to eat naughty stuff because its a good excuse with it being treat day, however without that mentality i think id have been happy to just go on with life without eating the junk on a friday.

So this friday, no treats and lets see how i go :)

I agree with Lynne puzzled, soup is the easiest stuff to make ever :) as our dumplings to put in it lol. Check out old savers :)
