Yes, the order was £59. She's decided to write to them as there was also a quality issue with a couple of the items. I must say I've used Ocado since they started and have never had any problems and I will continue to use them in the future.

Well it worked!! Waitrose emailed my daughter back in less than 2 hours - apologized profusely and said they would send her a £20 voucher! That's more like it!! :rotfl:

is it better to accept substitutes or say no thank you, don't want to be sent loads of expensive items
I find Asda substitute and don't charge the extra but Tesco always send me really expensive stuff and expect me to pay huge amount more
    anyone know Waitrose policy?

Accept the subs otherwise, if it is busy in store you will miss out on basics you need (bread, salad etc). If it is a specific item you can always not allow subs on that line only.

As you may have worked out, i actually run a Waitrose Deliver section and the advice i give is always carried out by my drivers. If you have any specific issues PM me with the branch and i will chase it up

Waitrose will always charge the lower price for substitutions, and the drivers should point them out at the time of delivery, you can still then refuse them and your account will be re-credited.

    Hope this helps.
If i need it I can't afford it

If what goes around comes around, i've started a BIG circle :p

Just tried to use the vouchers but if you go to waitrose deliver they will only allow you to pick from their entertaining range not normal groceries at all! Maybe just my local Shop but anybody else have this problem?

Yes, I had this problem too. Customer Services confirmed that my local store (Twickenham) doesn't do grocery deliveries -- only options are "WaitroseEntertaining" or Ocado.

Unfortunately multiple voucher codes can't be used on one shop.....Nice try though>:T

Prices aren't confirmed until the day of delivery as that is when you will be charged, therefore the multibuys etc can't be taken off until then.

When you log in, book the delivery/collection slot date FIRST before you put any shopping in the trolley. This means you will then see the offers in force on that delivery day. You can also click in the Special Offers section and click on the red offer banner - it will tell you the offer expiry date if you want reassurance.

The offer must be valid on the day of delivery/collection to take effect. And for multibuys you must also put the exact quantity you want on the order (same as you would throw in your trolley in a branch). Eg. For "2 for 1" offers you must put 2 in your online trolley (if you put 1 you will only get 1 and not be sent the extra one).

One further question. If I go to the online checkout and pay for my order, can I subsequently go back and make further amendments to that order (up to say 12 hours before delivery), in much the same way that you can with Tesco online grocery shopping?

  • I collected my order today.

Ordered 2 cases of wines which are currently 3 for the price of 2. Cost me £28 after all deductions which is roughly £2.40 per bottle

You can amend your order up to 12pm (lunchtime) the day prior to delivery
