Google "young girls want to be like Jordan." It's disturbing.
Oh err  found the articles you mean! - reckon breast feeding or bottle feeding their babies could be the least of those 2 girls problems though!
What the hell are the parents thinking supporting it all?!
Hopefully the majority of young women in the UK don't have such desires to be like Jordan - or we really are in trouble!
Re Jordan - wonder if it's possible to breast feed with fake boobs - are her nipples her own?!:D0 -

No results unfortunately, because it looks very interesting, especially re. probiotic formula.http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/106/5/S2/1285?ck=nck - as this study points out, there aren't many studies in this area because there are ethical issues, but the Finland study shows that breastfed babies had a lower incidence of allergy.I don't think discussing medical research about formula is "demonising" itJust because smoking doesn't make some people ill doesn't change the fact that it carries serious medical implications, and formula is in the same vein there.
smoking is unhealthy + ff is like smoking = ff is unhealthy.
We need to be very careful about making analogies that people may take to heart. Myself, I prefer the 'home-grown organic veg vs supermarket veg' analogy. It feels more neutral, and choice-driven.0 -
Im pregnant with my third at the moment and am intending to breast feed.
1st breast fed untill 8 weeks
2nd breast fed untill 4 weeks
I find it hurts and it not allways the easiest as they seem to want feeding more often then bottle fed babies but I love the experiance that I am giving something to my child that is natural.
I would say from my experiances pros are:-
Cheeper
Its nice that you are able to do it for you child as nature intended
They say its better for baby (but bottle isnt bad)
The closeness to you child.
Its something you will only experiance when you have a baby so if you only have one child you will only get to do it once.
Cons
you have to do every feed
Trouble latching on
Baby goes to sleep while drinking and is harder to keep awake
Feeding in public (some people can be very rude to you about it)
and the worst for me which is why I stopped breast feeding my other 2 is the leeking at night. (I found boobs didnt stay in place in bras and I tried loads and I filled pads before baby wanted another feed) so I was having to sleep in a wet bed and change covers every day. The last thing you need with a new baby.
I found babys sleept better and longer on bottle.
You cant tell how mush baby yakes from breast where as bottle is marked.
This is all my opinion but everyone is different and some people wont have the same problems that I did.Money doesn't grow on trees,:j I wish it did!0 -

I had exactly the same issues. Breast fed DS1 for 12 weeks and am in process of Bfeeding DS2 but am hating the leaks; especially at night, and am feeding every 2 hours which is flipping hard work. Am knackered!Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...0 -

Regarding the leaks, you can get cups for the nipples that collect the leaked milk. If you sterilise the cups first, then you can use the milk you collected. I found that I could accumulate a bottle a day this way, without having to do any pumping at all...0

Thanks for this onlyroz.
What are they called? Leak cups??? Are they suitable for wearing at night only that's where it is the biggest problem for me.

It does honestly pass - once milk production shifts from hormonally-based to supply and demand, you stop shedding it all over the place!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

i think boots do them and mothercare they're called breast shells, i only ever use them when i'm feeding or pumping - put one on the unused boob and it collects all the milk thats leaked out, they can collect quite a lot. just don't bend over when they're in because they have a wee pouring hole on the top and all the milk will fall out and soak you, as i learned the hard way! :rolleyes:DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY
