When will Nokia 6220 be avaliable on Orange? Is it any good?...

A couple of questions here:

1) Has anyone used Nokia 6220 classic and is it a good phone?

2) Does anyone know when the Nokia 6220 Classic will be avaliable on Orange as an upgrade? I am holding out on my upgrade until this phone becomes avaliable. Just hope I'm not waiting until Christmas!!!

Yeah its a good phone, had one a few weeks ago and is up there with the best of them, camera and video are amazing, you should be able to get one on upgrade on orange now ?

I had it for a few days on O2. Great features and the camera is top notch. GPS worked well too. Unfortunately it was the worst built handset I ever had. Feels very very cheap and the keypad wasn't fixed properly in one corner. The rest of the keys felt like they were too high on the phone (ie the bottom of the keys protruded above the side of the handset) and that something could get under them if you put it in your pocket/bag. The memory card cover was loose and felt very weak. It got sent back and swapped for another model. I'm sure it will be sorted over time but a lot of people on other forums are complaining about build issues.

The phone says it is avaliable to new customers on the website, but it still shows up as "coming soon" on the upgrade page.

Alec Eiffel- thanks for letting me know about your experience. When was it that you got this phone, was it recently? do u think this problem will have been sorted by now?

Was the beginning of July (I think I ordered it on the 1st and it arrived on the 2nd). I have no idea unfortunately if these problems have been sorted out yet. I'm sure the keypad not being fully stuck down in the corner (the 7,*, and 0 keys) would probably be just a batch problem, but the keypad felt weak in general and the quality of materials used in general were poor. It seemed like Nokia were cramming in as much as they could while keeping the price down. If you go ahead with it I'd make sure you could swap it if it had problems (you should get a replacement if it's less than 28 days old, otherwise they'd just send it off for repair).

My daughter has one of these (since about March) and we've had it repaired once already; it doesn't seem very robust & I'll be surprised if it makes it to the end of the 18 month contract.

However the camera is one of the best I've seen on a phone.

why not just get the n82 its available on orange, does more and has better build quality
