but the last thing I need is them looking at me as failure again.

Just seen this bit, YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. Ok, shouting over. I don't do that often but you definitely are not a failure! You are brave for wanting to sort it all out instead of ignoring it. Your circumstances have changed as I said before and if they don't understand straight away they will given time to think about it. No one has a bottomless bank balance (unfortunately :o ).

TBH, the birthdays are now right out the window.

I looked through the pages here for cccs - I don't think I want to go down that path yet though, as it means I can't get any credit til I'm sorted (prob sounds really stupid, right?)

I think I just need to take the loan on the chin - it was my choice at the end of the day.

Getting a new job would be great, but hard to find anything I'm qualified in - I work in a back office/light calls environment.

Our little one is 13 weeks old - mum is on maternity 1/2 pay just now, but her mum will be babysitting for us once my OH goes back to work.

Tried in vain to get a loan and a 0% card for balance transfers - maybe my credit is messed up (I did have an apparent attempt by someone to open an account under my name)

    I'm at a loss....

Can you post your SOA now you've moved and we'll take a look again. Maybe we missed something that would help :o . What exactly are you qualified in? I'm weegie as you know and know most of the recruitment agencies and some companies that are recruiting at the moment. Might be able to suggest something but need to know what you're qualified in.

Still working on the full SOA as the OH keeps making excuses for not giving me all the details.
I'm worried this is gonna be the end of us.

Job wise - I work in telecomms. Just over 5 years experience, 3 of which within a customer services environment. At present involved in building accounts etc, but still do customer contact/complaints and all that.

Got my cv on s1, monster & total, but not seen anything that I think sounds any good.

Only good thing about my job is it's Mon-Fri 8-4.

PS - Foolishly I imagine, I just tried for a loan through IF. Got refused.

Don't worry about IF I'm sure they refuse half the population. Telecomms, I work in same field. Why not try Sky? The pay's ok and so are the shifts and perks. They also give you good training. Get the yellow pages out and look up recruitment agencies and give them a call too, too many to mention on here for telecomms. Also try looking for more jobs on the edge of your skills i.e. what about customer service in another field, i.e. not telecomms?

Can you explain to your OH you need the details to work out your new budget? Offer to take the little one for a few hours whilst she sorts it out.

Hi brody77, dont be disheartend....oh may be frieghtend at what the results will show, i was tbh when my oh opened my eyes i turned frieghtened but coming on here making a diary has helped i dont spend like i used to and every penny counts to me..... Im a RGN so i have the luck of unsocial hours which is depressing but i figure i need the money..... i dont know much about the call centre sytems but my ohs cousins wife is in it and shes worked up to manager she works for direct line and someone else its worth it i guess if you can do overtime maybe go in at 7 while 4 ? an extra hour a day, look for a little evening job if its delivering papers i dont know every little helps.... we were like you at first trying for loans to pay loans its a dangerous games because you can end up digging an hole this credit crunch is a chance to clear some much need debt riddance :D.... can family help out? customer services is a good job role .... do some extra hours at weekend for a few months that may help :D stay positive you are dealing with it but you do need your oh's support i cancelled my wedding because i saw how the stress and worry was upsetting oh i was cutting off my nose to spite my face wanting lavish things ive capped it down to 5 grand when i was willing to spend 15 grand...... in the end its love that matters and support and it may be wise to sit down and open ohs eyes.... she needs to help you through it and you can relish in the rewards when you are debt free :D Amy :P

Definately need your household bills and stuff. In particular your credit card statements. Find out which APR you are on and look at how much interest you are on. If you can move even one balance onto a 0% it will help at lot. A little bit worried about your oh reluctance to ghand over the bills, could she be in debt too?
