    No phone applications, then ?
You can phone your branch and they'll open one for you - I did. Very quick & efficient.

    Hi,

Any idea how long Co-Op is taking for referral applications?

I applied on the 18th and still no answer.

    Thanks

    Dumb question...
    Couldn't possibly comment. ;)

    From the Co-op website...
    Current Account Plus

To open and maintain an account you must pay in a minimum of £800 per month.
From the offer T&C's (reproduced above, and expanded here for clarity)...
Open a Current Account Plus in branch before 21st September 2008 and deposit a minimum of £800 per month

    and

your Savings Plus account will be credited with £100 on or before 22nd December 2008.

How do you obtain the branch phone-number? Using the branch locator displays (0845) 7 212 212 for every branch.

I rang 08457 287 287 and asked for the local branch number so I could
make an appointment and was given it for my area.

Had my appt. today, went with passport, driving licence + 2 bank statements. None of it was required, no photo copies made. It seems as
though the checking was more or less done by the "system" while I was
there. Came away only with an application no. No forms at all. The Manager will ring me through the details (sort code and account no. in about
a week). Only then will I need to pay in the £800.

He could tell me, that they had sent a mail shot to named existing customers
with this incentive previously and had absolutely no take up at all. He concluded either people put it straight in the bin, or he was told people are suspicious and think there is a catch in it. That's why they have now broadened the net to putting out flyers in branches.

Appt. took about 25 mins. As said before, the offer is available until 21st September to apply.

    Were not sure.

I have 3x smile accounts, 1x smile Isa ( for now, its being moved ;) ) and a couple of general savings pots. One of the savings pots My OH has just been added onto ( holiday money) When he had his phone interview for it the other day, they found him on their system ( Ie on that smile savings account) and they opened it for him easily, meaning he had to give them no more Id
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Applied through the phone today, immediate acceptance; said the cheque book/card should be with me next week. Quite impressed with their set-up.

Transferred my £801 into the account the other day and just logged in to find it's there - excellent!

Set up a "Funds Transfer" from co-op for a few days time, and their system appended 00 to the end of the account number - so if I transferred to a/c no 12345678 when it was confirmed, they displayed it as 1234567800

Their help system says this is normal; it specifically said that two zeros will be shown on the end for transaction purposes - presumably they will strip them off before presenting the transfer to the recipient. I will await with breath suitably baited next week...

Can anyone with a co-op account (who isn't just blagging a ton :D) confirm if this is right?
