Hi I have a natural remedy for you. First you wash your cat with castile soap and water, then dry and spray (or sponge cos cats don't usually like this!) a bit of some herbal stuff over them. (This herbal stuff is just a concoction of 2 pints boiling water and a cup of rosemary (dried or fresh) - leave for half hour and strain the rosemary out). Let your cat's fur air dry and voila! *don't towel dry as it removes the rosemary residue*

But I was catching them alive and rendering them dead with something bordering on malevolent glee  The phrase: "you had to be there" comes to mindand I'm still not sure who enjoyed it most, Sam or me :rotfl:
However, getting ticks off of a dogs wedding tackle is another story

1/2 a teaspoon of dry yeast (the powder stuff) is supposed to get rid of them. You feed it to them daily and apparently it kills the little !!!!!!s.
I haven't tried it but my dog has picked up a few fleas and I've been told to up the dosage to 1 tsp for small dogs and 2 for large ones so I'm definitely going to give it a go. Anything's worth a try!Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. - Confucius0 -

Does it not make them a bit windy?0 -
When my kittens were tiny I saw they had fleas, gave them both a flea tablet but one of them must have spat it out as she was still infested the next day whereas her sister was clear.
So I picked them out by hand, it is strangely satisfying killing them. I personally like to hear them "crack" between my fingernails, he he
The natural remedies are interesting. I work in a pet shop so never really thought about anything other than the chemical stuff, we do sell herbal collars but they only repel fleas and not kill them, so obviously if the cat has already got them, all that will do is make them jump off onto the sofa instead.
One woman in the shop said she put little tea-lights and small candles in jars all around the house, and it attracted the fleas and she found them all dead in the wax the next morning, not sure how true that is, and I wouldn't like to leave candles on overnight anyway, especially not when cats knock things off surfaces anyway!
I personally use flea bombs when I treat the house, you put it in the centre of the room on a table or chair and leave the room while a fine spray of insecticide covers all your room.
