Evening!
Got home to find a letter from our letting agent stating that:
The builders have been to your property on a number of occassions and informed you that the property is not being ventilated adequately.
New builds are made airtight upon completion.Water vapour is released through day to day activity blah blah blah, opening the trickle vents for half an hour each day is not adequate ventilation, the windows all need to be open for at least 1 hour every day to control the levels of condensation.
If this is not done the results are mould and damp.
THATS IT!
Firstly the builder has been out once, and secondly we sit here with the windows open constantly, we have the ventilator fans on whilst cooking and showering, and the vents are open 24/7!
Such a piggin nightmare!!! I cant believe that theyre not taking any responsibility whatsoever! There is huge damp patches on the walls and theyre saying its condensation!!!! Its a joke. DH had a massive rant about it, and so we've decided we're just going to get them to call our landlord and ask for early release from our contract, and if not we're going to see if we can secure another property (if theyre decent) and just move out....
Cant wait to go and see these properties come thursday. just really hope one of them comes off good!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Im just fed up with the whole thing now LOL
We've got a plan in place for moving out so thats not too much of a problem. Im going to just write them our notice tomorrow, and scr&w em!
Getting our deposit back from this agent shouldnt be too much of an issue, searched a few forums for advice about them and apparently they are very good at giving it back! But I just dont them to end up charging us for the damage to the walls which has be caused by this mould!
Just got to wait and see what these other places are like though really, and start collecting cardboard boxes again! LOLWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi cafc!
hope these new places work out for you and you get something soon! are you gonna be moving before christmas because its only 36 days!!!!
surely they are not gonna have the cheek to charge you for the mould damage?
Anyway peeps i'm still illgonna have the rest of the week off i think get myself right, its not really good working at a hospital and sneezing everywhere so reckons its for the best

Oh bless you hun, I really hope you feel better soon, cant be nice at all.
Yeah Im really hoping one of these places work out too, we've kinda got our heart set on one of them, but i dont want to get too excited in case if turns out to be a hovell!
I do have to remember that it is a cottage and an older building, whereas we were spoilt here in what we have in our current place, but then on the flip side of that.... we've had loads of problems so perhaps somewhere older with some character thats been lived in would be best.
xmas only 36 days away!!!! OH MY GOD!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
