I think its because we yearn for it to be dealt with yesterday, whereas men think "its getting paid, I dont see the problem".... and it being there is the problem for us....

but id rather one of us was stressing than neither of us....

DH has had a call from his old job regarding his xmas bonus, which in theory he would still accrue. Its a retainer bonus for not leaving and joining the met and its worked out monthly. so he was still with them till june so could get a little payout of about £500 which would be GREAT!!!!

nothing else to report really from my day....
still not got a puppy..... lol

OK so super proactive day today.
Am going to print off our photos of the damp/mould situation and take them into our letting agent this morning and see about getting out of our lease because of it. Thyre not doing anything to rectify it, its going to make us ill (if it hasnt already) and our property is getting ruined and I dont see why we should have to endure that!

Anyway we found another place online last night, and places for similar to what we pay now are few and far between where we live so we're going to go and have a look round that if possible.

Got to pay 8p off DH's credit card bill, which we had cleared but they stuck 8p of interest on it! And then sent us a letter to remind us to pay it... 8p seriously?!

So got that to do, and then general household bits like the washing etc, all very boring.
Cant think of anything else moneysaving that we can do right now.... dooyoo is going well and I should have reached £50 limit in a couple more weeks. Need to catch up and do 2 reviews today.

So all in all should be a good day. Off to get showered and dressed so that we can take on the estate agent!

Morning CAFC definately sounds like you have grounds to get out of your lease, how can they expect people to live in those kind of conditions and the fact your property is getting damaged is unforgiveable.

Don't forget to add that 8p to your sig :T

OK so the letting agent has promised to contact us within 24 hours with an answer.
We explained we are losing property and before long we're gonna to end up being sick from breathing in mould spores. The letting agent had admitted to us that the condition (from the photos) is appaling and has promised to get something done. I told her that we just want out of the property now because we shouldnt be expected to live in it, nor should we have to wait around for works to be done. She tried blaming it all on the builders as the a new build its under guarantee but thats not our problem, we rent from them, so they need to sort it all out. She said there might be some scope for compensation..... but briefly skipped past any details etc.

So we've set up a viewing for one property next thursday as there is still a tenant in there, and then we found another property, out of town but £50 less than what we're paying now, so we're going to contact the agent about that one, its been up for a little while so we might be able to get more off.... plus its 2 bed, and next to a retained fire station which DH could get into easily and that would earn us a min of £2k per year....so that would be nice!

Not done my dooyoo's yet, but we did pay the magical 8p!! woohoo

Well at least things are moving in the right direction cafc, wait til they admit liability then go in for the kill with the compensation, like you say you've lost loads of your possesions which you need compensating for! :)

Sadly we really have! We've had to replace 3 bedroom units, and soon one chair which is being eaten by mould underneath!
    Its not pretty!

Im gonan give them till 2pm tomorrow afternoon to call me back and then will call them and demand a total answer, about ending our contract, full return of our deposit and then the compensation for our furniture, as for them repairing the property, i dont really care as I plan on being out of here!:rotfl:
