Good luck on the OH job hunt.

and you seem to be keeping on top of the figures too - not easy but at least you are aware of the overspending etc rather than keeping your head in the sand over it. That has to be a positive thing x

Would be much better if I could control it a bit better...

At least knowing things could be better and that I can play a bigger part in it, gives me some sense of control over the situation as opposed to not spending anything and not having enough money at at all and just not knowing what the hell we're going to do!:rotfl:

Have prepared myself for any eventuality on the all day sickness/lunch time spendings as well.

Normally (pre-bean) I'd have eaten maybe a small sandwich, packet of crisps and a couple of glasses of water for my lunch.
    Today I am armed with:
A portion of cereal (get free milk at work)
    2 lemon mousses
    2 fromage frais yoghurts
4 rich tea/chocolate biscuits (treat from DH)
    A chicken and stuffing sandwich
    2 dairylea triangles

To go with my crackerbread and philly already at work, and 2 cup a soups i have there...and 2 packets of crisps

Now then Bean... we've surely got to be able to eat something out of that lot today... looks like the feeding of the 5,000 in my bag....

Have taken £1 from change pot for a bottle of coke, and thats it!

    Morning All (just about!)

Day off for me today and Im hoping I carry on feeling "safe" so I can actually get some stuff done.

DH and I have been through whats in what account.
In our debt account we've got £264
The total minimums for everything that come out of that account are £500
So DH is going to pay the additional £240 needed in that account so this month is covered.

In our rent account we currently have £350.
The total minimums for everything that come out of that account are £801
So I am going to pay the £450 that I normally pay for my share into that account so this month is covered.

This will mean that this month is easily covered.
Normally I pay £350 into the debt account as my share, but we've decided to just "cover" it this month which DH's money.
Although I have only decreased my payment so £50 will still go in.
What I then save from paying into that I am going to use to pay a large chunk off my credit card which gets paid from my current account (as I never changed the DD over).

Now this might seem a really backward way of doing it all, but DH had taken control of the money this month (well the rent/debt accounts) as I felt he really needed to see that with him not earning, it's becoming tighter and tighter, so this is his plan.
I'd like to do it for this month,as I think its important to show him that I support his efforts, even though it might not be how I would have done things. The important thing is everything is covered for another month!

That and we did also manage to pay off OH's Halifax account this month with the excess from our debt account.
Yes we could have kept the excess as a buffer for months to come if DH hasnt got a job, but in a small way I felt if we had the buffer it doesnt give him that desperate drive which he know has understanding that this month we can cover it but next month is going to be more difficult.

So come payday I should have around 250 spare in my current account that I can launch at my I.F card.
This will mean there will only be around £575 left on that card.
At which point I may be able to transfer the remaining balance onto either my MBNA card (2.9% till march) or my Abbey Zero card (0% till feb).

I will also (now that it has been confirmed officially) get my payrise this month, on friday, and it will also be backdated to 1st July, so it means about an extra £50 or so this month in my wages.
Not a lot but its better than £50 less.

I didnt spend anything yesterday which I am most pleased about, and I even managed to munch my way through quite a lot of what I had taken in, regretted the lemon mousse though... was a bit tart for my delicate stomach right now LOL

Also started a list yesterday of cheap meals which DH will eat for september. Trying to use up whats in the freezer or what I know we can buy cheaply...
He keeps asking for takeaway, saying he's got the money, which yes he has, but we need to keep that money to help out in the coming months if he's still unemployed.
Its really hard telling someone No when you know they are trying hard and things arent really going their way.

On another DF note though, we've written up his letter to cancel his gym membership which is up end of next month, and have also written up a letter cancelling his PPI on his credit card, which he told me he didnt have! GRRRR why do men never pay any attention! Its (on this months statement) cost him £20.....honestly!

Right feeling pretty motivated and currently not sick so going to try and get on with some jobs in the house as i havent cleaned anything in some time....

    Thanks hun....

Sometimes I need to just have a release of all my thought processes so I feel like I've got a bit of control over something...

Bought some stuff for dinner tonight, could have cooked from the freezer but I really fancied roast chicken but was too lazy to roast my own.
However spent £15 in Asda and that should be it now for the rest of the week. So I think money wise we've done ok with food spends this month, but I think a lot of that is because I havent eaten too much for evening meals, but instead spent too much money during the days...

Hmmmm so any saving was negated really.....

But feeling a bit more positive today about getting things done and still being able to make a chunk payment to my credit card (provisionally) next month has cheered me up a bit.

Especially because if we move, and I'm on maternity, I'd like to have the debt squashed a bit of we've only got on wage and a bit coming in (i.e DH gets in fire service and im on maternity).....

found out yesterday my payrise didnt go through GRRRRRRRRRRRR
not the biggest issue as we werent relying on it this month and it just means more back pay next month but still..... got an apology from operations director so not all bad.

been really suffering past few days with all day sickness for the past few days thought it was all clearing up on thursday has had a pretty good day but evidently not! wednesday was probs the worst, had to come home from work and just laid on the sofa...

money wise nothing much has changed. Get paid on tuesday even though i thought it was yesterday... shows how messed up my head is at the moment.
mum wants to go shopping nxt week so buy baby things, but we're doing a mega cheapo shopping trip so charity shops etc. looking 4ward to it long as i feel ok!
got midwife appointment next friday as well, bit nervous, but sure it'll all be fine.
DH thinks he might be rejected from fire service. went to his optician for his prescription to see if he would pass the sight test and there is one thing he will fail on so hes going to ring them on monday to see if one fail in one area is acceptable. i really hope it works out ok for him, he seemed really down ysterday.
Although he did have his interview for the full time sales job and it seemed it went quite well, should hear wednesday next week so that would be good if that came off.
