Interparcel.com - Are they Reliable?

I used to send my large packages via MHDirect Couriers, but they seem to be proving very unreliable lately.

I've just been on the Interparcel website http://www.interparcel.com/ & they 'seem' to be quite professional.

Anyone used them and are they pretty reliable?

Yes they are very good and you receive the tracking number by email before collection. They did lose, or DHL did, a parcel going to Greece but I did receive a refund eventually. There are plenty of options too for higher insurance and different couriers such as UPS and City Link.

We send around 250 a month with ppwexpress.com. 12.30pm cut-off. No failed collections. Booking system is automated with DHL. Easy to reach on the phone.

Also fair but cheaper than interparcel.

excellent company very reliable.I had no problem at all
  • NO they are NOT

I am still waiting for a parcel sent from Watford the 08 July 2008.

    This is their last message:
I have been speaking to ..... at ............ and wanted to update you on the situation with this order and Spanish Customs.
The Customs procedures have been changed recently and what used to be smooth transactions are now taking a long time to clear.
At the moment we have supplied all the documents that they require several times and I have been pushing these items to be cleared several times a day.
Unfortunately we have no control over customs and we are rather beholden to them and I have referred this and another 6 Spanish problems to my Director as customers are being caused no end of disappointment and this is not acceptable.
However having spoken to our account Manager a moment ago it looks like your order may be being authorised but I will know more tomorrow.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the frustration this has caused you and please have my assurance that I am giving this my personal attention.

Unfortunately, this is a "pack of lies". DHL and INTERPARCEL always use the same excuse (Spanish Customs) and that's why I always use Parcel Force. It's more expensive but reliable and always on time. Bad luck for me, this time I have been dealing with a company in Watford that only deal with DHL and INTERPARCEL.

Three weeks for an urgent parcel and there is no reason to believe that it will ever arrive!

They are very good especially if it comes to large parcels. I sent quite a lot of 2 metres long parcels and found them excellent. Next day delivery with TNT. Phone response could be better but would recommend them in general. If you have problems than ask for Lisa she is very good. For smaller parcels I use ppwexpress

Yes, very good. I've used them for a number of high value items including a £600 guitar to France. I've had no problems.

They use a rip-off 0871 number for customer service and 0870 for sales. They do not provide a fax number. And don't bother looking on saynoto0870 - the numbers there no longer work.

If something goes wrong with your booking, you cannot amend or cancel it online, not even if you placed the booking only 5 minutes ago, it's the middle of the night and there's no way either they or the courier will have picked it up yet.

You can send an email, but the chance of an immediate response is very low. So you have no choice but to call the 0871 number. They probably make more out of that than delivering parcels.
