Cheap Broadband only-Low phone user

My head is whizzing. I have read all the packages linked to Martin's email and can't find exactly what would be best for us. At present I pay AOL £9.99 month for broadband and I pay Primus for line rental £10.50 with free evening and weekend calls. I use the computer only for browsing, forums and letter writing. I never download music, play games - nothing like that. We are very low phone users. This month's Primus bill is £10.86 i.e. 36p for calls.
Some are offering less than £5 for broadband and weekend calls-no line rental. I think Talk Talk is doing £9.99 for wireless broadband and some free calls which would probably work out similar to what I am paying now and therefore not worth the move. How do people decide who to go with? Maybe a chat with AOL is the way to go? Opinions anyone?

I've just gone to talk talk. Joined via quidco so get £40 for that
Pay £30 one off connection then £16.99 a mth for line rental, broadband (40gb) and evening and weekend calls. Plus all calls to their helpdesks are free too
First 3 mths you get a £3.25 discount, add that to the £10 quidco you make after £30 connection fee and over the 18mth period you pay less than £16 a mthI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. Glad Im not the only one with low-user confusion. We are on BT light user scheme and hardly use phone (throw back to when you needed a phone line for dial up and emergency use). For the last two quarters our TOTAL bills have been under £30 per quarter.
At present interent usage has either been in lunch break at work (with employer permission) or using fre wifi hotspots. Kids usually use computers at school library.
We think though the time has come to take the plunge and get wireless broadband at home and thought this will be easy!!!!!
Noticed previous post re talk talk and tiscalli above with interest. Anybody actually move from BT light users as well with "best alternative".
(NB dont think we will do a lot of download so unlimited not really required and speed doesnt have to be SUPERfast)0 -
I pay £15 to Sky for which I get free anytime phone calls, Broadband & line rental. Who gives it cheaper than that?:j0

If your in a Virgin Media Cable Area they will give you Broaband Only for £9 a month for a year, then it goes up to £17 a month. Its a 12 month contract so you can renegotiate price after 12 months or cancel.

Like I say my head was spinning but I think it was Talk Talk @ £4.99 but I think it was only for three months. I go back to the list and make sure. If I make long phone calls they are only in the evening so a weekend only free phone is no good to me.0 -
