  • Hi All,

Just thought I'd let you know that the Childrens one day account at ybs.co.uk is actually paying 5.62% gross, as at 28 January 2007. Which isn't too bad.

Have accounts for son at Halifax but they made a complete pigs ear out of them, got them muddled up with my accounts, didn't have sons accounts as tax free etc etc, so although there 10% regular saver account is the best, I'm looking for others due to their appaling customer services.

Will post again on same subject if I find anything else out thats appealing!

    Have a nice day!!

With regard to the The Halifax Regular Children's Savings account, can anyone please tell me if I can open an account for my new baby grandson 5weeks old?
Can I do it or does it have to be the parents?
    Thanks
    LL

you can open one yourself, and his parents can also open up one each if they wish
  • You can do it - you would need your grandsons birth certificate and name and address verification for yourself

We opened an account at Lloyds TSB (we're with them) for our 3 yr old last year and all he got was some ugly black horse head money box, it was hideous straight in the bin!
