Capped/Fixed Tariffs only available for Dual Fuel - not Gas only?

I am confused Is it true that you cannot get a capped or fixed price tariff for gas but they are available only :huh: for dual fuel deals? This is the advice I was given earlier today by someone on Energyhelpline helpline. I only want gas as I pay my electricity through my landlord and so cannot and do not have a choice of supplier nor any dual fuel benefits.

I know that npower don't offer a fixed rate deal for gas only. I'm pretty sure no-one else does either.

You may be able to get one by contacting the supplier direct but I wouldnt put money on it.

As far as I'm aware they are dual fuel or electric only. You could try finding out the supplier your landlord uses then get them to supply your gas?

I have never seen a capped tariff for anything other than duel fuel

Eon offer a capped gas only tariff - give em a ring, i know i did as ive got a prepayment electric and standard meter gas and it on eon and its protected, it there price protection gas october 2009, not seen it on a comparsion site though, but ive got the confirmation letter and tariff info so its all good
