I've received a letter this morning informing me that I can continue claiming IB until a review in July 2009.
Hopefully I won't need to for that length of time
Many thanks to everyone for their support and advice

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Sort off off topic but the question about what is said at the medical and what is later written down keeps comming up.

So can you record the medical?

Pleased to hear that the result was positive, it useful to others to read that people have the correct results.

It is possible to record the medical if the Doctor agrees to it but the recording must be made by a proffesional operator, on equipment of a high standard, propery calibrated by a qualified engineer immediately prior to the recording being made. A copy of the tape would need to be available to all parties. The cost of this must be paid by the claimant.

I have a blocked artery, ive had an angiogram, i have tablets for diabetes, blood pressure, cholestorol and beta-blockers

I have chest pains if i walk 100yds, i have to stop to get my breath back

Any tension, stress or difficult situation (including heavy traffic whilst driving) brings on palpatations (im not even sure WHAT angina is)

am i a possible candidate for IB or DLA?

my specialist told me im i needed a stent or bypass but later that it wasnt worth doing and id have to stay on tablets....

If you are unable to work you would need to claim Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

You would need a med cert from your Doctor to start the claim.

If you have care or mobility needs you may be able to successfully claim DLA.
