    Does anyone know of a bank that uses Equifax to search for a current account??

    Not many at all........ Most use EQ & EX

    my equifax is pretty clean and all searches fall of 1st of may. are u guys 100% certain John Lewis def search equifax for the card as then i would imagine i have a good chance of being accepted. did u check ur file after that to see their search footprint.

    sorry for being paranoid, but i cant afford any searches on experian and i am giving it a rest for another 3 months.

    Yes mate - I checked it online cos got equifax email alert a later that night..... it was for search...... I got declined by the way - lol, knew I would.....

    all cards issued by barclaycard are checked on equifax.
    i applied for barclaycard platinum ... got accepted
    6 months later, i applied for bhs mastercard..... got accepted.

    i guess ill keep sticking to barclaycard issued cards for a while .....lol
    no luck with balance transfer with them though.

    last month applied for an MBNA platinum plus, got declined, they said my credit file was fine but i was using 94% of my available credit and that was the reason for the refusal....

    i guess debt to credit ratio is becoming increasingly important

    No, Barclaycard use Equifax, Barclays Experian 100%
