I just applied for a Barclays current account, they searched Equifax for ID and then searched Experian for credit check. The Advisor also stated they search National Hunter for fraud prevention at the same time.0

Can someone help me out here as im a little confused as to how best use all this credit search info.
If a cc company only searches one of the credit files, is this a good thing or bad thing ? For example, I can see that if you have a lot of bad debt which you can hide from a new lender by choosing one who doesnt use the credit file check on which this lending will show up, this could be a good thing. But at the same time we hear that people are refused lending because they have no history of borrowing, so if you choose a company who wont see any of your previous lending history they may not approve an application on this basis ??
My situation, £9800 bal against £11k limit with virgin; £3500 bal against £6800 limit with lloydstsb; £300 bal against £7800 limit nationwide. Joint current acct/mtge/p.loan with nationwide; sole graduate acct barclays £2k o/draft. Exhausted any good bal trf offers etc with current credit cards so where do I go next / how do i use the info on 'who searches where' to my advantage ? (should add held all cards for min. couple of years; only recent searches were for jt ln and mobile phone mar/apr).
Thanks mse's !Comps wins 2009: Take That concert tickets, WRC Tickets
