                    hiya
I am about 6 weeks pregnant i cant book in with a midwife until i am 12 weeks.
I have been having aching cramps in my lower pelvis area for about 3 days now I have no bleeding or anything like that.
Is it normal to have cramping pains or not
I have no one i can ask about this and sorry if i have put it in the wrong place.
thanks
tia

            Hi
There isn't really any answer other than to say if you are concerned, contact the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital or your GP.
During pregnancy, pains can come and go and may or may not be cause for concern. There is no real telling and by asking on here, you could end up worrying yourself even more. I've had five pregnancies and all of them have brought their own individual aches and pains.
Who told you you couldn't see a midwife until 12 weeks btw? Sounds ridiculous to me? By 12 weeks you should already be having your first scan in many areas!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0

Please phone your gp maybe you can see the nurse. I don't want to worry you as it could be nothing but better safe than sorry.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

I agree you should be booked in with the midwife as soon as you get a positive result.Hi

Also, if you are 6 weeks pregnant and are worried and wanted a scan now, you can always opt to have one privately through BUPA (Spire) for around £100. At 6 weeks, you can just see a little blob with a heartbeat but it still may be reaassuring and will help confirm dates. It may be worth contacting your local hospital for advice on what options they can give you?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

            Hi tiatia
as mrcow says, everyone is different. When I was about 5 1/2wks pregnant I had cramping low in my abdomen - a bit like a gentle 'stitch' feeling. I went to the doctor, who did a blood test and confirmed everything was fine. I've had cramping on and off since then, but it's never been particularly bad. I have a better idea now of what level of pain I would find worrying and what is just 'gorwing' pains. But these will vary from person to person.
I would suggest seeing your GP - that's what they are there for. Hopefully everything will be fine.
 Good luck x

            Could it be implantation pains?
Through my pregnancies I have had this, and in my last pregnancy even bleeding which just turned out to be a cervical bleed and had no bearing on the pregnancy.
It is common, but do get checked out :cool:0 :cool:0

It varies from area to area. I've had a positive result from the word go, yet my booking in appointment is not until I am almost 16wks preagnant  That's just the way things are in my area.
We paid for a private scan at 10wks - best £80 we ever spent confirming there was something there with a heartbeat and only one!!!:T

            I agree with the above.
I went to my gp and told him I was pregnant (I didn't tell the receptionist over the phone as I figured she would just book me in with the midwife for 2 months time!).
I then voiced my worries to him. I had similar things to you with very very light spotting. I didn't know what to expect and my mum was abroad so couldnt ask her. He sent me for an early scan where they doubly confimed I was pregnant and put my mind at ease.
My area do not do 12 weeks scans, so I paid for one and it was money well worth spending as it was lovely seeing the little bubba float around on screen and hearing the heatbeat.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Every time I have been pregnant, I have had what feels like period pains,in the early stages, this is how i got to know I was pregnant, one of the signs! But best to check it out, like advice given.0

Cramping without any bleeding is fairly normal, as is light spotting - it's intense stabbing pains in one side that you should worry about. But if you're at all worried then book yourself an appointment with your GP.0
