I have a lot of tracks on wma format which I would like to burn onto regular CD so I can play them in the car.
Can anyone tell me of any (preferrably free) software thats good for this.
Thanks

You have a huge choice of software to carry out this task.
Windows media player and iTunes are both free and easy to use.
Others such as nero will also do the job.
Simply create a playlist or audio cd and click on burnYou got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0 -

Want to know how to burn an audio CD using Windows Media Player 10? Look here.0

Mr Skint
Your suggestion doesn't encompass the conversion of .wma flies to .wav files that are playable on a standard CD player.
Not all CD players play .wma files.

Does WMP10 convert files from .wma to .wav?
Either way dbPowerAmp will do the job.0 -
Compact discs conforming to the Red Book (audio CD) standard do not contain *.wav files, so your question is irrelevant in this context. 'Burning' an audio CD from within Windows Media Player does precisely that; creates a CD that can - in theory - be read by any standard CD player.Donnie wrote:Does WMP10 convert files from .wma to .wav?0 -

Notwithstanding...
Are you saying that WMP10 will convert .wma files to a format playable on any standard CD player.0 -
I believe that I have already answered that question in the affirmative. Provided that one is using Windows XP and has a CD-R/RW drive, one will have all that he/she needs to make an audio CD from within Windows Media Player.Donnie wrote:Are you saying that WMP10 will convert .wma files to a format playable on any standard CD player?
If one is not using Windows XP, third-party disc authoring software (such as Nero Burning ROM) is also required.0 -
Tanglefoot is technically correct, the wav format and red book audio formats are different - their only similarity are both are uncompressed audio streams.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society
