I'll be doing my cleaning at work for the next 2 days as the school is closed due to the strike so that means doing all the jobs that hardly ever get done - sorting out PE store, cleaning cupboards, etc. Luckily My kids' school isn't closed so I haven't had to try and organise childcare for them!

Going to mum and dad's for tea tonight so shan't be getting much done but I have a question. I've got some little wooden crafty box things for the children to paint for their teachers. Will normal water-based kids paint do or will I need something different?

Anyway, have a good day all

Just waiting for the weather forecast before I jump in the bath and contemplate what to wear today whilst I soak. Yesterday ended up unexpectedly hot.

Hope all of those of you who have kids affected by the strike cope today and tomorrow. DS is off as his is boss and guess what. They're having a BBQ this afternoon! He's also going to try and get paid anyway because, if he wasn't on strike, he wouldn't be able to go into work anyway because the LA have closed the school! I like his cheek and reasoning!

Need to do the mega Staples order today so he can be in for its delivery tomorrow.

    Have a good day ladies.

Tomorrow my bedroom is going to be boarded across so that the builders can do the knock through  . I am going to dust and hoover today, I have my pride:D . Luckily, thanks to doing flylady for the last few weeks there will be no nasty surprises when I move the bed and the furniture. I am not looking forward to having no natural light in the room for a while but we do anything to get this build over and done with quicker!

Also this week is the last one on our usual bin collection/recycling scheme. next week we start a new scheme and I have 3 new bins for various things. This is as well as a bin and two boxes that we currently use. I do recycle a lot anyway and at least now it will be collected from the house and I don't have to go to the tip/plastic bank every week. Once the binmen have been today I can sort out my porch for the new system. I do have to get myself a crock or container for food scraps in the kitchen ( I don't compost atm). Is it worth spending the money on a Lakeland one or shall I just line a box with newspaper?

    Good Morning!

Blue skies and sun here this morning, hoping it stays that way as I need to catch up with the washing. OH is working, and I have both the boys with me until I take DS1 to preschool at 12, so I'm not planning much in the way of flying until 1. Thankful that's it's the bedroom today as I do the sheets on a Friday and it's the tidiest room in the house! On Delivery Van watch for my new boots too :)

Trying to feel more energetic about it today, lost it a little yesterday. Looking around this morning, though, the house looks ok. It's not as bad as I thought, anyway.

Need to get some paint (in "rented accommodation magnolia") and touch up the walls. The boys have managed to pick and peel some nice size holes in various places and we've never got to fixing them. They're starting to annoy me now as the clean house really highlights them. And OH noticed a crack in the outside of the bathroom wall the other day (which surprised me as usually he never notices anything). AND we found a hole in the chimney breast in the attic. We really need to get the landlord to get a man in. I can't do that until I've sorted the paint out in case the landlord decides to visit too.

Verbal diarrhea this morning! Sorry :o Here's the list...

    Morning All

Well my cold is clinging on and last night DD1 started with a cough (which usually means ear infection). She is having today off and I will take her to the doctors or drop in clinic later. Have to wait for DH's new monitor to arrive:rolleyes: . She has had calpol and is currently sat watching little mermaid 2 and coughing lots. Tried honey and lemon drink but not interested.

Today is a general tidy round as everywhere needs it. DH even commented on the house looking like a pigsty last night. Its not dirty by any means I just haven't been picking up after the kids as much as usual. There is not a lot of food in either so need to get a few bits later.

DD2 was really restless last night too. I put the fan on in their room in the end and she did nod off till 5.30am:eek: . Took me ages to get back to sleep after her visits during the night too. I always lie there waiting for the next one:confused: .

    So today is:

    Kitchen S&S
    Bathroom S&S
    S&S Lounge
    Hoover through
Mop kitchen, bathroom & porch floors
Try some other summer stuff on to see if it now fits;)

Right courier been and gone so off to take DD1 to docs whilst DD2 at Nursery.

    Morning everyone.

No flying for me till later. Just got in from work and had my breakfast. Meeting my daughter this morning then I will come back and crawl into bed for a few hours.

Soappie I regretted meeting ex because it brought back memories of what a !!!!!! he had been. He was even more up his own asre than he was then. He was always right no matter what even though I knew he was wrong sometimes. He did treat me badly.

A very competitive man and hated losing at anything. I did smile to myself though because Ive aged a lot better than he has.

Two good things did come out of the ending of the marriage. One he signed the house over to me completely because of what he had done. The second thing was that finally at the age of forty I became the the real me. Not something other people wanted me to be.

Mudbath Hope you are feeling better.
