  • I got mine home at the weekend. It's a standard, but it's 500w, so maybe it's an older model:confused:
It's just fantastic:T. We've had Pasta bake, with the most gorgeous crispy cheesy topping, Outrageous monkeys "tartyflart" trying style, and this morning we've just had lovely crisp, warm, all butter croisants (freebies that I would normally bung in micro and they'd go all soggy:() for breakfast.
Tonight I'm going to try the savoury impossible pie recipe.

Thank you all, for introducing me to this brilliant wee gadget, even hubby's well impressed.

Desperate housewife I got the standard. I think I will have a go at some bread :D
  • Well, my grand remmy arrived a couple of days ago and we cooked toad in the hole in it last night - fanruddytastic! A question for the experts out there (you know who you are, lol!): How do we cook rice 'from scratch' in the remmy? Really want to have a go but all the recipes I've seen suggest getting already-cooked rice? TIA!

remmy cooks rice brilliantly - just remember 2 parts BOILING water to one part rice - if you have a grand you will need to put it in a suitable dish - for the normal you can just put it straight in the pan or use the seperator, takes the same time as boiling but the result is much better imho - i ve used both long grain and basmati with brilliant results

Do you cover the dish with foil or cook it open?

Also, if I heat up a meal or cook like stew in a pyrex casserole dish do I put the pyrex lid on?

My remoska arrived yesterday. I made up some bread dough in the panasonic and baked rolls in the remoska this morning. I haven't tried them yet but they look much nicer than when I bake them in the oven.
Baked pots for tea. Then scones, rice pud, chicken.............

Made the lasagne in my grand moski last night, did a veggie version and there was a vast amount! Lined the pan with one of my silicone cake tray liners so I didn't scrape the bottom when I took it out. It was lovely though, fed 6 people with huge appetites and was enough to freeze 3 foil dishes of it as ready meals for another day.

  • When I was in Prague about 18 months ago I looked at the price of Remoskas there and they were only slightly cheaper than at Lakeland - and not enough cheaper to make it worth the bother of changing plugs and having a foreign instruction book. So Lakeland are in fact quite reasonable - and their customer service is second to none. Anyone want to hear the horror story of my coffee maker that hardly ever makes coffee? Wish I'd bought one from Lakeland instead!

i just leave them uncovered and keep an eye out ready to cover if necessary - rice only takes about 20 mins and ready meals or preprepared meals that just need reheating take about 30 mins so barely enough time to burn or spoil

i also find microwave steam bags very good and convenient (20 for £2 in aldi) - last night i reheated a casserole in the remmy and done some broccoli and new potatoes in steam bags and it was all done in 30 mins start to finish - no saucepans to wash and even the remmy did not need washing as the the casserole had been frozen and defrosted in silver take away trays - fabulous meal with only 2 plates to rinse!!!

Hi Maz, I went for the grande. There are 5 of us and I figured I can make a big one smaller with pots etc but cant make the smaller one bigger (if you know what I mean).

Has anyone found a good way of cleaning the top? My lid has some stains on which are proving difficult to shift, also the very edge has gone slightly discoloured. Is this normal?

I hadn't realised that the microwave steamer bags would go in the remoska.
    Thanks for the tip.
I'm guessing roasting bags are OK too?
